My misfire experience
My misfire experience
16,500 miles on 2015 DX 6MT:
Check engine, traction control & steering lights come on at the same time over the weekend and stayed on. Car ran just fine; the check engine light never blinked/flashed on me (in which case it would be a clear misfire problem). I drop off the car Monday and dealer gives me a rental. 1 day later:
One of the cylinders was misfiring.
They replaced all coil plugs and all 4 injectors, along with a part of the fuel rail, as per service bulletin. All replaced under warranty. I am surprised they did not charge me for the rental.
Put on another 400 miles, no issues so far.
Update @23,000 miles: all is good.
Update @29,000 miles: all is good.

well thats good it was fixed so quick.. i dont quite understand. did the check engine light, traction and steering lights STAY on ?...i dont quite understand what you meant by "the check engine light never blinked on me"
When I owned my Suzuki Esteem 1.6L 5MT, the check engine light would flash once in a while, and stay on otherwise. I never bothered to diagnose the problem since the car ran just fine, so I drove another 50,000 miles under those conditions. Little did I know, when the check engine light blinks, it's basically screaming at you: MISFIRING. If the check engine light stays on permanently, it may not be a misfire issue. In my case, it was a crankshaft position sensor electrical issue AND a misfire issue for the Suzuki. Then one day my fuel economy went down to 19 mpg. Car went to the junkyard at 170k miles.
