2016 Honda Fit Inventory (Honda Geek) NJ
#21
We bought a 2016 with Navi 3 weeks ago. It, supposedly, will be at the dealership by Oct 18th. Hopefully sooner. The dealer thinks there is a hold up at the port of entry. He can't tell us where in the pipeline the car is right now. We do have a VIN however.
Perhaps ours is the Alabaster Silver in your list. Headed for Honda of Fife, in Washington State?

It all depends if your car is coming from Mexico or Japan.

Our first shipments of Fits are all CVTs. I also posted yesterday that 6 speed Fits will be produced in lower numbers for 2016.

Yes, actually. You place the order with your local dealer and reserve it with a deposit. The car is then reserved electronically with Honda, with either a car that has been scheduled to be made already and has not been allocated to a specific dealer, or a fresh order (wait would be a little longer).
Cars built in North America are usually a two month wait max (excluding unexpected delays). Not sure what the turn around will be with Japan made Fits.
That being said, I have mid Nov ETA on the car that are in In-Transit status.

Or do I have to suck it up and pay MSRP?

That being said, the mark up on a Fit is only $400-$500 based on the trim you want. Its not $3,000-$6000 like an Acura.
At the end of the day, if you can afford it, buy what you want. The other option? Just don't buy it and look for something else that has discounts like a Nissan (they practically give away cars).
I bought at Mugen Si years ago at full MSRP and I had no regrets.
I guess my wife has the same mindset when buying designer bags though

I'm waiting to see if the "made in Japan" cars have the same design/build issues as the "made in Mexico" cars. Specifically, sagging bumper covers, sagging rear fender liners, and dashboard panels that don't fit.

I have none of those on #46xx hecho en Mexico. Perfect, really.
