Recall's are not that scary. What would be scary is if Honda didn't recall a problem (think GM). A couple hours with your Honda dealer, and "poof", the problem goes away!

Enjoy your new Fit!

some parts may have been produced at the low end of the hardness specification.
This sounds like engineering-manager-speak for "We made a batch of shafts that didn't quite meet the hardness specification and rather than trash them we changed the spec. Now we have to apply a band-aid fix because we found that the substandard shafts sometimes break in operation."

Here's my concern: After reprogramming, will the CVT cars still achieve exactly the same gas mileage?

Call me a skeptic. I'm thinking like GeorgeL regarding the reason for this recall.

Reason I'm so concerned about the gas mileage: I recently drove my wife's Fit from near Pittsburgh, PA to southeast Michigan on mostly secondary roads. It achieved a calculated 50.2 mpg, just by driving conservatively, within the speed limits. On the way back, I used the turnpikes (again, at posted speed limits) and achieved 42.6 mpg. I have eight motorcycles, and only one (a Kawasaki KLR 650) can consistently better those numbers. Sure don't want to mess that up!

Press Fit and Vanguard, Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm not new to the forum although this was my first post. I owned a 13 Fit prior to my early build 15 which has now had all the recalls to come out done to it.
