Brand new 2016 Honda Fit EX-L

Hey there, I'm new to this site and I'm looking for some advice.

I've got the new 2016 Honda Fit EX-L - navi. Im new to modifying cars and I'm wondering what's possible for the new fit? I'd love to get it more toward the 200 horsepower range and possibly increase the torque too.

Does anyone have any information that could help me?

Try this thread on modifications. It is very long. There is also the Engine modifications forum. I have not heard of anyone getting 50% more HP out of their engines. Did you buy a CVT or 6MT?

Must be nice to be able to get the EX-L Navi with a manual. We can't get that here.

How much money are you willing to spend? With enough money, almost anything is possible.

I have the CVT one, I prefer the paddle shifters because of the smooth shifting although I'm worried that it won't handle a lot more power based on what I was told by the shop employees at the dealership. I have a sizeable budget of a few thousand dollars. Not unlimited but enough to get some results.

Check out this poster's thread on some of the things he's done as a starting point: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-...cvt-build.html

So far no turbo/supercharger mods yet. There are a couple of intake and exhaust bolt on options but nothing making dramatic gains.

Something is better than nothing then! Thanks for that! Do super or turbochargers need to be made specifically for a cars model and year?

Hot rodding axiom, nothing beats cubic inches except cubic money.

Make it breathe, cold air induction, bigger injectors, smooth light weight exhaust headers, an ECU chip, cat back exhaust and with more cubic money carbon fiber body panels. Cams and turbo with even more cubic money.

A turbo with help torque, but that's makes for more problems. I've seen estimates up to 175 hp without breaking the engine or the bank (w/o turbo and carbon fiber body parts).

To quote the Publix lion, "That's my 2 cents."

shouldve gotten the MT. these cars are notorious for being slow with AT's.

Even though I have an EX with MT, I have heard that Honda's CVT is actually better than most, especially with the paddle shifters.

Off topic opinion: From past experience I don't believe that Hondas are broken in and get their best mileage until 5,000 - 10,000 miles (YMMV)https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/imag...es/vtec228.gif

The paddle shifters on the new fit are a work of art but the only big problem I see is it can't handle a lot more horsepower. I was talking with the guys at the dealership and they said it probably cannot handle 200 hp because that could break the mechanism or put unnecessary and extreme wear and tear on it.

Upgrading paddle shifters and the entire CVT system isn't easy and isn't cheap so I'll have to stay within the restriction of what the CVT can handle I guess?

I'm sure after a few thousand miles it'll begin to run even more smoothly. I may give it some time before I add mods to let everything get used to running.

@jukeboxx13
It hopefully wouldn't be enough horsepower to require I upgrade the handling.
