Received a robot call today notifying me about a "Rear Grab Handle Bracket" issue that could effect the deployment of the side air bags.
The call told me that I should be receiving written notice by mail in about a week.
Anyone else getting the call?

Yes, I also received the call today (12-18-2015). I then checked my VIN online, and the info was confirmed. Here it is:

NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 15V-697
MFR CAMPAIGN ID: JV8
CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION: Rear Grab Handle Brackets
RECALL DATE: 10/19/2015
RECALL STATUS: Recall INCOMPLETE. Remedy not yet available.

 

This is the LX one referenced on a previous thread, no?

 

Just checked and my car isn't on the list (build number in the 19,5xx range).

On a side note, it would help when anyone starts a thread like this to be more descriptive in the thread title. "New 2015 Fit Recall" doesn't say much and would have been more helpful as something like "US 2015 Fit Rear Grab Handle Bracket Recall". There's already a thread on this recall for CDN Fits.

I, too, agree that the thread title is too vague.

Stembridge, I don't think this is the same recall. This recall may be about the "Oh Shit" passenger grab handles located on the headliner. This recall has already been reported.

 

Got it… The only time those handles get used are when my elderly Dad rides with me (as an aid for getting in and out). We'll see if I eventually show up on the list, I guess!

That's a bad, or mistaken, dealer. The government has a process to report dealers like this.
