after 7 years of NEVER removing the clips(and no one else has, i just removed the 6 screws and hinged tray down to change oil) I replaced the 2 rear clips with these from home depot and stainless screws, its kind of a "rubber bolt" with a metal nut encased in it, hopefully will allow the tray to "blow the clip off" if required because the snow just did to the drivers side here in snowy vancouver.
Damn, now you have me thinking about my lower cover.
Gotta check it the next chance I get.
i replaced the passenger side also (gotta be even...lol) and the passenger side seemed 1/2 to3/4 broken..never removed!..but snow pressure might have been a factor...the 6 screws seem solid the... 2 last connectors ....shite!
it might of been the megga puddle on highway 1 onto cassear tunnel ...literally thought this was the end XOXO

Splash shield fasteners are not well designed. I used 3 zip ties to attach the shield to metal parts, a single on the driver's side and a daisy chained double on the passenger side. With the zip ties even if all fasteners fail the splash shield should still stay in place.
2015-2017 Honda Fit, splash shield zip tie locations
Well I lost the splash shield on the 2015 Honda Fit completely without any warning or sound so didnt notice and go back to retrieve it, and went to the dealer and guess what, they dont carry it anymore. So got the expansion clips and plastic screws and they were expensive to say the least, but now I cant find a splash shield at the local auto stores. Any one know who might carry it...?
