News: Pairing phones with Car Infotainment Systems
Not 2015-2016 Honda Fit specific, but a general article about car infotainment systems and phones. We get enough people asking about the Fit's infotainment system. Honda does publish a list of phones they say will work, but this list is quite short. AFAIK the Fit has no software updates for the infotainment system and there are none planned. Someone correct me if you know better.

Interesting that the article talks about making sure your new car is compatible with your existing phone. Isn't it more likely to be the other way around over time? Most people keep their cars for 6-10 years, but over that time they're likely to change smart phones anywhere from 3-10 times.
I was lucky, I guess, since my new iPhone SE works with the Fit just like my iPhone 5C did. However, iOS10 is coming out in the fall, and I'm already wondering if I'll still be compatible when Apple forces the update on me.

I finally broke down and replaced our flip phones with smartphones -- iPhone SE/64GB on T-Mobile's Unlimited Data plan. We each get 14GB of tethering each month. At any rate, both flip phones and iPhones pair well with the Fit.
I really love the Fit's hand-free Siri. I can tell it to "call wife" for a phone call or "tell wife [whatever] to iMessage. OTOH, it doesn't do too well reading her iMessage responses to me. I'd rather have her text on the radio display.
It also does very well using Apple Maps. At every turn by turn voice guidance, it mutes the music. I like being able to keep my eyes on the road and having a virtual co-pilot reading a virtual road atlas for me.
Uncle Gary, Apple doesn't "force" you to upgrade. I sometimes wait until the new.1 version comes out.

Apple DOES download each new operating system onto your device if you are connected to wifi and plugged in to charge without being prompted or asking your permission. True, you can choose not to install it, but it will sit there eating up about 8Gb of memory.
That's what I meant.
