LaneWatch Repaired?

My LaneWatch camera doesn't always work, but the dealer says he can't do anything unless he sees the car when the camera is not working. Have any of you had this problem repaired/solved?

Have you tried making a video the malfunction with your smartphone? Maybe they would accept that.

I did that, but they can't diagnose a video. Once I start the car, the camera will either work or not. It will not change after it is started.

The first time I brought it to the dealer and left it running, he said he wouldn't be able to get to it that day. The next time it malfunctioned, I brought it to the dealer and left it running in the lot. Eventually, a tech went outside, brought it in, and worked on it. When she was finished, she said that it was working for her. There is no way it would work unless she restarted the car, although she says she didn't. So, I have to hope that it fails during business hours, when I am close to the dealer, and when the dealer can work on it.

There are only so many parts involved in this system, and I can't believe that Honda doesn't know what's causing this. It happened a week after I got the car, and a total of twenty-five times.

I suggest bypassing the dealer on this one. Go straight to Honda Corporate and tell them about your situation. They might offer a solution that doesn't involve the dealer that supposedly "fixed" it. Hopefully there's a different dealer close by they could recommend, especially if you insisted to corporate that you don't want to go back to the dealer that worked on it.

I've phoned, emailed, and tweeted. I even have a case number. The official line is that the dealer will fix it, but he has to see it in failure mode.
