It doesn't seem to me that edge film could blunt impact as well as the big edge guard piece but I could be wrong? The wonders of modern technology?

 

if i was to do it, id just put a strip of clearbra to prevent chips on the edge of the doors in case you bump a wall or something in the parking structure. at least that way it wont be an eye sore like those thick door edge guards some dealers like to put on at premium price.

you can buy narrow rolls of clearbra on amazon. just make your own.
