Fuel Injector replacement at 25k
I only discovered this forum a few weeks ago when I bought my new-to-me 2018 Sport. There are a lot of smart people on this forum, and it seems to me that we could put our heads together and find some consistency, rhyme or reason, or SOMETHING to find a pattern of what causes some to have these issues, and not others. Fuel type, driving conditions, driving style, long trips / short trips, etc.
I've got 26k miles on the car now. Fueling up with 91 octane at Costco. (Costco because it's TopTier, 91 octane because the only other they offer here is 85 "because elevation", but I can find no manufacturer documentation that says anything less than 87 is recommended). I have a 40 mile round trip commute that is mostly highway. I drive easy most of the time, but then have at least one "spirited" drive per week. Is it helpful? I don't know, but it sure is fun. I intend to follow the recommended intervals on the maintenance minder, except that I am planning a transmission service (CVT) at 30k, although I don't think it is recommended until 60k. I average mid 40's in MPG, though the previous owner's were only getting low 30s. (still saved in the trip computer when I bought it). Since the vehicle was leased, I was able to get the maintenance records and can verify scheduled maintenance was done on time.

I had a check engine light come on and got a P219A code on my 2016 EX with 65k miles. I had a shop near me diagnose and they gave me an estimate to replace all fuel injectors and fuel rail (other parts included in that line) for $2500. I took it to the dealer and they replaced it under warranty (I think 75k miles on those parts?). Lucky for me they covered it but I also have the mechanical breakdown insurance through Geico which covers up to 100k miles for anything like this, so I had a claim ready to go with that.
I was told by the mechanic at the dealer that he sees these a lot and sometimes the entire head needs to be replaced as well due to carbon buildup from the improperly size injectors. I really still don't understand how these injectors are not under a recall.

Honda needs to go back to making and standing by cars, and get the h*** away from their idiotic ad campaigns about being "helpful" and giving shmucks a few nickels and dimes.
My car is out of the VIN range but the injectors have still failed. Is there anyway we can fight this and get a reimbursement? Please help!
I had the same problem. My VIN is out of range. This is BS my car is under 100k miles and the injectors failed.
