robs, USDM, and myself have some fuel dilution in our uoa's .... and it would appear that its no cause for concern. you may want to consider sending in your oil to be analyzed
Any progress made on the fuel situation? Tomorrow I should be able to get some baseline data regarding crankcase pressures. Last night when my new tool arrived, I ran out to see what diameter hose I need to adapt the gauge onto the dipstick tube. I started the car with no dipstick and I was shocked at the amount of air being pushed out if the hole. I truly expected anywhere from nothing to vacuum, but never puffs of crankcase air and gasses. I’ll try to share some info here or at least give a heads up as to when I add data to the T-Rev thread.
didn't take the car to honda yet , decided to have the oil checked myself .am waiting for the results from blackstone . should be sometime this week . in the meantime i've off the b-pipe and tanabe muffler in anticipation of a visit to the dealer . car runs fine .
just got an email from blackstone , the engine is fine , all the numbers were good . there was a trace of fuel , which is what i smelled , but they didn't think this was a problem. this could
be attributed to idling and or taking a cold sample . guilty on both counts . a week and a half before this whole thing i had the car idling in my driveway for a good hour while figuring out the
programming on the car's telephone hookup . also something about the cold weather . i dumped that oil on a day when it was 12 deg. might take a sample a little further down the road .
this is good , taking it to the dealer was the absolute last option .
Speechless that Honda would have to come out with this video.... Almost as bad as Chevy and their cylinder shutdown oil consumption. They claim a quart per 1000 miles is completely acceptable consumption.
Thank you for sharing this! Highly motivating for me to go ahead an have this current oil tested. I hate doing an early change when it's not in the budget, but I think I bought enough last time that I may only be a quart short.
