Deep scratches to rear wheel and side door in small accident

There are some deep scratches to my rear wheel. Not sure if it is safe to drive. Is it safe to drive for few days? How much does it cost to replace wheel. I have $500 deductible.

I'm sorry for you, but if the physical evidence in the photos is the only damage, I think you're good to drive.

They are $184 on Bernardi.

Based on that pic, I'd say its safe to drive on as long as you don't see any cracks which I doubt there are any.

Thanks Andre. Looks like wheel is pushed little bit inside compared to other side one.

So sorry for you.

Did you catch the numb-nuts who hit you? If not, then hope that person contracts uncontrollable diarrhea on a long road trip.

Looks okay to drive, all cosmetic.

Drive it at speed on the freeway and see if you detect any vibrations that may be caused by a bent wheel. If nothing, then you're probably okay.

I don't like the damage; its not certain the wheel is damaged but it needs to be checked by magnafluxing and check for bent by indexing.
magnafluxing is a est used to find cracks. many machine shops have such equipment. buying a new wheel might be cheaper.
indexing is rotating the wheel mounted to a hub and verify that the inner or outer edge of the wheel rim does not vary by more than a thirty-second of an inch (.031") measured inside the rim flange. first measurement can be outside the flange and will almos always give the same answer as inside.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. Wheel/tire also seems to be pushed little inside compared to other side wheel/tire setup. Not sure if it is alignment issue or some problem. I am going to get estimate tomorrow. I have $500 deductible. I might go ahead and fix with them if I need a new wheel.

Hi,
It is my stupid mistake. I took a left turn into another road without focusing on traffic.

I am hearing some noise which might be wind leaking from door panel damage.
I will check it out on highway. Thanks for the help.

Rims looks ok to drive. There is not crack. The only dangerous could be the tire but is hardly appreciated from here. Just check that you do not have any leaks or damage to your tires. Take the pressure now and in week. If you notice a difference in psi you could have damage and a tire is essential for security.

Just to be safer buy a "fix a flat tire" or one with a compresor just in case. Rims are made to stand a lot of abuse and I have seen worst that that and the keet going.

Drive safe.
