GK5 Bass restoration

So after installing my upgraded components in the front and rear with an amp, I've been notified that the FIT has a bass "roll-off" feature.
With this setup, the system reduces the amount of bass fed to the speakers in an attempt to reduce/remove any additional stress/fatigue on the stock speakers.
Why Does My Factory Honda Audio Sound So Bad? (sounddepotandperformance.com)
In many articles online, I've read of adding a "signal processor" to essentially add back the bass.
Since I'm not really pleased with the idea of adding more equipment (and all associated wiring etc.), I'm not going this route.

I did a little more digging and found this video:
Since it's applied to the radio, I was hoping that the FIT would have a similar screen.
Sadly, I didn't find anything that allows you to disable the "PS Setting".

I'm thinking that since the FIT radio is essentially a computer with this activated, there's gotta be a way to disable/adjust this setting.
It would certainly help with my audio issues.

thank you

The 2015-2017 fit infotainment HU does not have such a setting. 28 watts per channel at 4 ohms isnt a lot of power anyway for whumpa thumpa bass anyway. The 2018+ HU are a different firmware and may have this setting. Can't speak to it however.

That being said, you need extra external signal processors and amps to recover that bass. That or replace the HU entirely.

I originally went with a LC7i loc and after hooking up to a couple of 100w/ch rms amps before settling on my 125w/ch rms amp, the noise floor from the OEM head unit was so much that I had no choice but to upgrade the head unit to get a very clean signal.

I also went through several subs starting with 150w RMS kicker hideaway with 55w/ch rms x 4 door speakers. Then went through a JL wedge at 300w/rms, a Kicker at 400w/rms before settling on a Kicker L7 QB8 at 500w/rms because it better blends and balances with a nearly 125w/ch rms x 4 door speakers.

Thanks for the replies, gents

I've since started experimenting with the eq in my phone (my audio source).
After tweaking it a while, I can honestly say I'm impressed!
No longer do I have to adjust the bass, treble or fader. Or wear ear plugs when I wanna crank it up!
Now when I listed to jazz at low-moderate volume, I feel like I should be listening to it in a Lexus or Infiniti...it's that good!

If you have the 5” screen while the stereo is off, hold 1 and 6, and then press the power button while still holding 1 and 6. You’ll hear a beep and be in the menu. If you upgraded your speakers, you can turn EQ off in the the sound menu, and you’ll have a lot more mid bass back and the bass rolloff will go away.

I just installed a kicker sub and amp and LOC and was wondering why it wasn’t hitting as hard. Tuned the amp to the appropriate voltage and everything. Once I accessed that secret menu and turned off EQ and Loudness, and checked the voltage at the gain I had originally set it at, it was far lower than where it needed to be. Reset the gain and it’s hitting as it should now. Thanks for that info!
