2018+ Harness

An FYI for those looking to install amps on 2018+ GKs…

I unfortunately already ordered both the Metra harnesses, 70-1731 and 71-1731. I was going to use these to make my own amplifier harness.

However it looks like there’s already a ready made harness available, with connectors on speaker connections. It’s a bit pricey but for those looking for a ready made harness…

PAC LPHHD04 on eBay Listing

if anyone gets this please let us know how the install goes!

Also Metra makes a two channel harness with line level and gain control:

FYI... Anyone thinking about making a harness using Metra 71-1731 and 70-1731 should be aware. There are NOT ENOUGH PINS in the 70-1731 (male side connector) to fully create a T harness. Even if you remove all the unused pins, I was still missing a bunch, I only managed because I completely cut out the front speaker wires, and rewired the front doors with my own speaker wire. That saved me 8 pins (4 pins I didn't need, and 4 extra pins I got from removing those 4). Which left me with extra. However if I had used the factory speaker wires, I would have been short.

In the above post, There appears to be a female 3.5mm aux plug in the picture? Is this harness for an Lx or Ex model 2018.

in 2018 Honda eliminated the aux in jack from Lx models that was present in the Lx only 2015-2017 year models.

Im trying to add an aux jack to a 2018 Lx model. I can order the jack no problem, but there is no separate wire harness for it in 15-17 and I’m not sure the male plug still behind the console face plate for 18-20 year models as part of the wire harness.

Is that an aux in jack in the pic above?

thank you

Unfortunately I haven’t seen any of the Axxess products in real life. Everything I’ve seen on YouTube and on product pages shows it being a female 3.5mm jack with two bare wires, so it has to be spliced in, or if there’s no pins it will require adding the pins. The video I watched says it’s for integrating with steering wheel controls but again Im not 100%

I will try and compare my LX harness with photos of a EX harness if I can find one and see if it has additional wires that might suggest the possibility of adding an AUX in.

Thank you. I’m wondering if the wiring plug is behind the dash on a 2018-20 LX for the aux in 3.5 mm jack.

The head units look identical

2017 wiring instrument harness is
part# 32117-T5R-A01
2018 LX wiring harness is
part# 32117-T5R-B80

They look similar at that location on the crude diagrams on line. I have a 2017, Im going to pull that lower dash out and take a pic of the harness behind the aux/usb. If I buy a 2018-20 in the near future I’ll see if the plug is behind there.

BTW has anyone noticed the sky hi prices of used Fits? They are appreciating !!!!!

Several people including myself have confirmed that 2017 and 2018 have different head units and different connectors Check this thread.

It may be possible to make a cross compatible converter harness using combination of Metra 70-1729 / 71-1729 and 70-1731 / 71-1731. I did not see a 3.5mm jack behind the 2018+ HU, I can take a photo in a month when I take it all apart again to tidy up wires (somethings rattling in there again). The only way I can see adding a 3.5mm AUX is by splicing into the harness or adding pins, again I’ll have to look at the pin outs posted by Bassguitarist1985. If it’s just two pins it should be easy enough to add to the harness, but there’s no open jack built in, I suspect it will need to be wired in, and then is the question of enabling the software option.

Food for thought!

I’m specifically looking at LX trim radio head units. Above is pictures off eBay of vin confirmed radios/years. The pictures in the thread you referred me to appear to be EX trim radio HU. Completely different.

What model Fit do you have Azuki? Is it a US model ?

So from my pictures of the LX radios it appears 18, and 19 and 20 are the same. I think the 15-17 plug configuration may be different than 18-20, it’s tricky looking at eBay listings and confirming VIN particularly since 16 and 17 LX cvt cars were Japan made and Mexico made.

What I would like to be able to do is pull the dash section containing the 12V USB and AUX female plugins and look at the harness plugs on my 2017 and a future to be purchased 19 or 2020 Lx fit to see if the unused aux male plug is present.

So in conclusion if I buy a 2020 I will
pull the lower panel and if the plug is back there I’ll try connecting the extra jack assembly I have and see.

And here is a 2020 LX same radio same physically as 2017 in front but plug configuration in back to is different.

Does anyone know which plug on the 2015-2017 rear of radio is the AUX in??
I’m guessing 2nd plug from the left on the 2017.
