So I've been racking my mind and scouring these forums on the info to add an amp to the factory HI without splicing into the factory harness. No Splice Factory Harness
For you guys with the 2015-2017 that were successful I commend you.
I appreciate Bassguitarist for letting me know the 2018 pin layout was different. I should have stopped there with my project. Turns out the 2018 connectors are completely different. The Metra harness will not fit the 2018s. I even did the whole donor harness thing and pulled out the pins in preparation.
Anyway, feeling a little bummed that I wasted all that time pulling panels out just to be defeated.
This is probably the best photo of the factory harness before I put everything back. If you look at the plug, its fairly flat profile is not a match to the Metra harness I had pictured previously. The factory harness plug is also wider.
So it looks like the 2018 refresh is actually different in many ways. I even looked through Metras website and could not find anything for a Fit after 2017 using their Vehicle Finder function.
Now do I return the Lc7i and amp components that I already ordered?
Splice into the factory harness?
Wait until Metra or someone makes a harness?

To me its only a matter of time before Metra or Crutchfield comes out with the adapters. I would say hold onto the components.
I have a good friend who works for a Honda Dealership that has access to the service manuals for the FIT. Ill put a query to him to see if he can get the schematic. The plugs themselves I doubt he can get on its own, it would be the entire vehicle harness. Still schematics will help when the metra parts come through eventually.
have you reached out to metra/crutchfield? see if they are working on one, and if so, if they could provide an eta
I already have, they are working on it currently. It even says it when you select the 2018 Fit. Though I told them that having the previous HU connector part# on there do their customers a disservice. They are aware of the plug difference. The problem is sourcing the actual plugs from Honda, or in my eyes at least the supplier who gave it to Honda and/or the injection mold dies that make the plugs themselves.
I do have the pinouts for the 2018+ GKs now. They are different!

Metra now shows that the 70-1731 and 71-1731 part numbers will work for the 2018+ Fits with the refresh body style and updated HU? Can anyone confirm? Pictures of the HU?
