I saw this bug for the first time on my Fit. I signaled right and the rear camera top-down view showed up instead of the LaneWatch view. I tested it several more times after making my turn by manually activating LaneWatch and continued to get the rear camera view. At this point, I also noticed a 1-2 second delay from activating the camera to getting video.

After a few tests, I started getting a black frame instead of video.

I got home and turned off the car and turned it back on and still got the black frame. I gave up at that point and shut off the car and locked up.

About 30 minutes later I came back, turned on the car and tried again. This time LaneWatch popped up quickly. I was actually hoping it wouldn't work so I could take it to the dealer and have them see the problem first-hand.

Try to get the problem recorded on your cell phone video camera. Although I've seen dealers of several makes reject photographic evidence when they want to be pricks, I think it will suffice in your case, as there is a precedent for the problem, and Honda is currently motivated to address many of the quality issues coming out of Celaya.

You may want to reach out to the social media person Honda has floating around this site if the problem is proving elusive to replicate.

I believe the current fix is a remanned head unit. Not a perfect solution for a new car, but I guess it's better than no fix at all.

Just had my daughters replaced by Honda for the same reasons Saturday. We have not had it back long enough to evaluate the results, but others that have had it replaced all seem to report the problem solved. Call Honda customer care and describe the issue to them:

Initially, there won't be any remanufactured head units and they will be replaced with new ones. The new ones will likely have the same software as the ones they replaced but they hope that the bug will remain hidden long enough to satisfy the customer.

The "remanufactured" term exists all over the internal literature and has since pre-Internet days. The only difference is that today the text is easily reproducable to be read by people outside the company. Anytime you have something replaced under warranty they will leave themselves the option of using remanufactured parts.

Anyone still seeing this, I didn't get my head unit replaced and it pops up every couple of drives. The head unit will reboot too if someone calls me and the bluetooth tries to pickup.

My daughter has never seen the problem pop up again since the head unit was replaced. In fact, I asked her about a month ago when she was home from school, and she said no problem.

Now if I could just get her to slow down......(she just received a speeding ticket last week).
