Hi gang,
Here is a question for you. In the mini-spare tire well, there is a plastic item towards the back of the well with embossed symbols and some kind of padded area in the middle. The foam tool tray that covers the tire has a cutout to accommodate this item.

Any idea what it is? I didn't see any mention of it in the owner manual.

Do my eyes deceive me? or is that an external temperature readout in the dash display??? Also, IIRC, you mentioned that the "hidden" storage bin beneath the left rear seat is no more, correct??
Thanx! :-)

[\You are correct, sir.] Err, I mean, your eyes do not deceive you. On both items. There is an external temp readout now, among other new helpful data items such as range (estimated miles on remaining fuel) and more accurate average mileage. The data items are covered in the Fit manual (link on another thread in this forum).

Yes, sorry to say the storage bin beneath the rear seat is gone. But note there is storage beneath the cargo floor in the where the spare changing tools are located.

So Honda giveth and they taketh away.

I think the seats are very comfortable. Only sat for a moment in the back seat, but have some time now in the driver's seat.

Note that the driver seat now has the adjustment to raise and lower the seat, with the "johnson bar" on the outboard side, forward of the recline lock lever. Pump up on the bar to raise the seat and pump down to lower it. Only on the driver side. There is lumbar padding as well on the seats.

Thanks a ton Brian. You must have known you'd be in for this grilling, lol! Hopefully you're finding it fun to supply such helpful info. I'm not sure what that gadget is you have pictured and were asking about. Not sure at all. Also, from your pics of the wheel well I'm kinda confused as to what's there. The deck liner is from your 09" is it? I assume without it it's just carpet, obviously. But with all those dugouts, will the carpet sag down into them at all? Or is the stock floor back there rigid?

www.bernardiparts.com has their diagrams up already. From the diagrams it says its the cover for the Smart Unit antenna.

1. I didn't expect to be the community's source of information; I feel like the guy leaking the next Apple product. But it's kind of fun. I really expected a bunch of "Shut up, I got one too..." replies to my original post. Never thought the suspense for the other buyers would last this long.

2. Sorry for the confusion. I didn't take a photo of the cargo area deck itself; it is just the grey/black fabric cloth over some kind of rigid (but not thick or substantial fiberboard panel. I think this panel is seen in many of the interior videos on Youtube reviews, so I didn't bother with a photo. The more interesting part was how well the plastic 2009 cargo area liner fit into the 2015.

Bingo! I think this is where the cargo space went. The floor is higher by the thickness of a jack.

If replacing the OEM horn, I would highly recommend a Stebel Nautilus. I put one on my Honda VTX 1800 (motorcycle) and it demands attention!

Also photos of other storage areas, using items for scale such as eyeglass case and water bottle: console between the seats, glovebox, door cutouts (next to water bottle space), and pocket behind passenger seat.
THANK YOU!! Exactly what I was looking for details on. You are awesome!

. I wonder if it has something to do with the tire pressure monitor system? Have they added a sensor for the spare tire?

No, the tire pressure monitor system changes for 2015 and goes to the type that does not directly measure tire pressure but rather measures the rolling distance of each tire. So what it is really checking is whether one tire is out of synch with the others. The upside is that we no longer have to worry about tire pressure monitors in each wheel, particularly when changing wheels. The downside to this type of system, is that as all four tires loose air together, it does not sense this gradual loss of pressure as well as direct pressure monitoring.

Hey Brian, thanks for all the awesome pics.

I realized ONE thing that I bet a lot of us FF here haven't seen before though....

Could you possibly take pics from a driver's perspective of how the headlights look (light throw, brightness, etc) at night with fogs on and off?

And also, I'm curious how those LED tail lights look at night. So far I've only seen day time pics of the US GK.

Much appreciated.

Edit: oh yea, do those big gulp cups sit next to each other ok? Or do they kinda tilt to the side if you put two of them in the cup holders?

I think that the "smart unit" is part of Honda's Smart Entry System, which is standard on the EX and higher trims.

Why they put it in the back I have no idea!

New guy here, but I just wanted to say "thanks" for all the info you've posted in this thread. It's great to be able to hear from an actual owner and not just rely on the reviews. It will be quite a while before I'm ready to buy, but I like to plan ahead.

2015 Fit EX & EX-L 185/55-16
Uses Bridgestone Turanza EL470
Tire Weight 18lbs.
Stock Wheel Weight - ?

Assuming 2015 LX uses Dunlop SP7000 185/60-15
Tire Weight = ?
Considering 185/60-15 General Altimax RT43 (16lbs)

Whatever that little gadget is, the left pic means don't step on it, the middle looks like don't crack it and the right pic looks like don't pull on it. Whatever it is, do NOT mess with it, LOL!

Also I've been curious about the headlights being what looks to be smaller- certainly slimmer. I LOVE the HL's on my 2012. I keep the fogs on full time too. But when some moron is coming at me and they don't turn their high beams off, which happens often, throwing mine on gets the message across every single time and they turn off their high beams. I can only assume the Fit's high beams are blinding. It would stink if less lamp means less light as well.
