Hi,

The 2015 Fit EX uses Bridgestone EL 470 tires. 185/55/R16

Not EL 450. First-hand knowledge.

Thanks! It was a typo. I just re-checked Tirerack and it shows '470' as you stated. Thanks! I'll make the change.

Sorry, typo. There actually is no such tire as an EL450 only the EL470.

Also, I have not confirmed that any of the Dunlop SP7000 are indeed being used as another tire choice, as they were on the GE. Usually, Honda uses 2 tires, but so far I have only seen the Bridgestone EL470s on all the 2015s shown so far.

Thanks Brian! I'm hoping that driver's seat will work for us too.

2015 LX will probably use Bridgestone Ecopia's EP422, like the Insight uses.

We have the 422s' on the '11 Fit base w/ 5 speed auto . Not bad for the price and are wearing well . Got them under $60 each through a G.M. dealer price match along with the G.M. tire rebate ( debit card ) .

Better, yet, start a Fuelly account. You'll be the first (and only) 2015 Fit there.

My update on 2015 Fit availability.

The salesman called me to see how my Fit was doing (outstanding).

He also dropped a bombshell on me.

He said that Honda shipping on LA made a mistake in delivering the cars to this dealer, and that these cars were not supposed to be delivered until the big release in mid June. In fact, Honda sent a truck back to the dealer to get the black Fit that had not been delivered yet.

Supposedly Honda is planning a big release event and had not intended to trickle the cars out early. This is bizarre considering how much the release of these cars has been delayed.

I was just in the right place at the right time to get the car before the mistake was discovered. As far as he could tell, I am still the only "civilian" with a 2015 Honda Fit.

I would take the above as a tall tale from a car salesman if it were not for the complete lack of stories of other sales to the public.

All I can say, if you want the first available Honda Fit, call Alex Orloff at DCH Honda Mission Valley, 619-920-0996. It worked for me.

Not sure I want to go that far in reporting fuel use to Fuelly. Let's keep that here with the Fitfreak family.

Gotta get back to work, but put a tank of gas through the car, and showed 36 mpg for about 250 miles of mixed city and highway driving, commuting, etc. Looks like actual range for this level of driving would be about 300+ miles with this mix of driving. The reported average still agrees very closely with actual average (based on actual fuel consumption).

Only have about 450 miles on the car, so it will be awhile to have a longer-term patterns of mileage. Uh, your mileage may vary...

Kindly allow me to disagree.

Being at the right place at the right time, doesn't necessarily mean one gets the right item. Given these conditions, its only your immediate decisiveness to purchase that made all things work in your favor.

You deserve to be the first US "civilian" owning a GK EX CVT. Congrats again and keep those impressions coming as the weeks continue.

Hell, that's better than my GD anyday. With my 50-50 city/hwy, my average is like 26mpg with the A/C on 40% (gets too hot at times). Joined Fuelly last month but don't think will ever be a true hypermiler.

LOL, guess I am out of the loop, I didn't know fuelly was a site, I thought he was just referring to starting a thread....just when I thought I had read everything on the internet, back to work I go!

This screw up is consistent with many others that I have seen reported here and what 3 dealers told me. First, they get a surprise delivery of a 2015 fit. Then, within a day or two, Honda orders the car to be taken back. It looks like the transportation folks are not always in synch with the desires of Honda management.

Based on the May sales report, Brian's 2015 Fit is one of four such Fits delivered during the month of May. The other thing that happened throughout May was that the inventories of many dealers would show new Fits, and then suddenly they would be removed from inventory. About 80 such cars. I wondered if they had been sold or pre-sold. The month end sales numbers indicate that these cars were probably removed from inventory for reasons other than them being sold.

What was your average fuel economy in your older Fit?
I am expecting, or hoping for, a 3MPG improvement from the GE to the GK.

About 27 mpg in mixed, 34 ighway actual for my 2009 Fit Sport AT (usually with A/C). Display was always overestimating, didn't get a software update and was never offered one.

Well, that is fantastic news. If you went from averaging 27 combined on your old Fit and got 36 on your first tank and went from 34 hwy to 42. Then I am very excited about the real world fuel economy of the 2015 Fit

The average combined fuel economy for all drivers of the GE Fit reporting on Fuelly.com was 33.5 MPG. About 10% averaging better than 39 MPG and 10% averaging less than 29 MPG. If your driving style of your old Fit puts you in that bottom 10% in fuel economy, then the initial results in your new Fit really look fantastic, assuming that your initial miles were similar commutes and conditions.

Would you mind resetting it, driving for a few days on ECO mode, and reporting back on any difference? I drive my Prius C on ECO mode and get about 5mpg better. It just makes the accelerator less responsive so easier to maintain speed and not accelerate unnecessarily fast. I was curious if it worked like this with the Fit!
