Loud whirring noise from the steering column
Purchased a used 17 Fit EX Manual with 27k miles and I noticed that every time I start it up and shut it off there's this loud whirring mechanical sound from the steering wheel area. At first I thought it was the dreaded VTC rattle but nope the noise is definitely coming from the steering. It's still under warranty but I figured i'd ask on here first if it was normal or not.

Not normal.
Under warranty and suggest a visit to any Honda dealer. They can see your problem first hand and give a proper assessment. Good luck.
