Question EPS going to have issues later on?

Hi guys, I have a 2008 Honda fit auto. Recently I have been seeing the EPS light more and more and turning off and on the car doesn't reset it. Sometime I have to drive it for 300-500 meters before it the EPS goes away. I'm not sure how to diagnose this and whether this will become worse later on. One thing to note is that it the EPS light never turns on and I loose the power steering when driving it, only when I have to start the car. There are other times where it goes away right away. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

EDIT: i'm not sure if super hot weather helps with the issue im having.

There is a TSB for the EPS Control Unit on all 07-08 models in the US. Even if your car is beyond 100k, I believe you can ask for a good will consideration and they will at least bring down the cost of replacement at a local dealership.

I don't have the PDF, but I'm sure if you do some google-fu you can find it

Hi, thanks for replying, I figured as much. Unfortunately, I live in Toronto Canada and i'm not sure if there's a TSB for it here. I'll ask the dealers around here. So the problem is with the EPS control unit and not the EPS motor? Hopefully, the price isn't too expensive.

This is the link for the recall. It says Honda of America, which I don't believe includes Canada (but very well could as it's part of the Americas).

You must display one of the codes described in the PDF or they will not even consider a good will discount.

Edit: I believe I've seen the cost to be around $800 with parts and labor if you do not receive any form of discount. At least that's what I've seen mentioned before on this forum, stamped about 10 years back.
