Door Handle Rust Recall.

Anyone have their door handles redone because of a possible rust issue? I was informed by my local Honda Dealer that it would take around 6 hours to complete the recall work. No cost of course. I haven't had this done. My door handles seem great.

I had it done. It's the door handle under the sheet metal. You can't really see it unless you lower the windows and kind of peek between the channels. Mine were definitely rusty. After you get it back, inspect the doors to make sure they don't knick the paint and that they don't smear the black goop that holds the plastic sheet to the door.

Had mine done in 2016. Broke Inside plastic piece. Took a month to get another. Inside door panels rattled and were not snapped into place properly. Check for leaks as they may not put plastic inside doors back in properly. Worst recall job I ever saw. Look before you go in inside door to see rusted part. Check to make sure they actually installed the new part which is painted black.

Good Luck

I had mine done when the recall first came up. The shop managed to dent my rear passenger side door in two places prying off the panel. They also didn't get the door panel on correctly so I had to take it back a second time. Oh yes, they refused to acknowledge that they'd dented the door.
