Grinding / Rattling noise when I come to a stop
So I have noticed that whenever I come to a stop I can hear a rattling / grinding noise under the hood. However when I completly stop the sound goes away. I can only hear it when I slow down about 5mph to 0mph then the sound dissapears as the car comes to a stop. Ive stopped in Neutral and drive and the grinding noise continues. Any advice?
My first guess would be that your brake pads are worn down to the squeal bar and that your rotors might be worn. A new set of rotors and pads sould only set you back about 150$. Does it happen when you apply the brake or even when coming to a rolling stop?
loose exhaust bolt(s)? Had a rattle on my 08 fit under certain rpms. Still under warranty at the time, dealer thought cat was bad, replaced it, no fix, after closer inspection they found a couple bolts on the exhaust manifold heat shield had worked loose.
rock/pebble stuck in between back side of rotor and metal shield? this produces a loud scraping/grinding noise at low speeds. obviously only when the wheels turning will it be noisy.

still grinding
sot from 1-5 mph I hear the grinding noise then it dissaperas abobe 5 mph. It does it when I come to a stop from 5mph to a full tstop then it stops grinding. Whether or not my brakes are applied or not it grinds and rattles. Whether in drive or neutral it rattles. The transmission seems to run fine. Im going to check the exhaust manifold bolts to see if that is the culprit or not.
