2010 Fit Sport MT 100k Maintenance Question

I am coming up on 100k miles in my 2010 Fit Sport MT and was wondering if there are any specific maintenance activities that need to be done at this milestone such as spark plug replacement, radiator fluid, rear drum brakes, etc.

I have recently had the MT transmission fluid replaced and planning to get a new battery but should I be thinking about anything else (not including tires, disk brakes, and oil changes)?

Also, the car did not throw any maintenance codes yet - not sure if I should wait for those or be more proactive?

Thanks so much for any input.

These plus valve adjustment and brake fluid change if you haven't done it (3 years recommended service life)

Drum brakes are probably fine, but you could pull the drum and inspect just for piece of mind.

I'd wait until the MM calls for it. It will call for a valve clearance check at the same time and it's not cheap.

my best guess is around $400. Let us know if you get a quote. Also it doesn't hurt to negotiate. I think it's about 2.5 hours labor and $80 parts.

Does the spark plugs replacement alone cost around $400 or is that for both spark plugs and valve clearance check?

That's for both, approximately.

Most of the cost is the labor time, since you need to remove a decent amount of stuff to actually get to the spark plugs (by the book anyway) and to adjust the valves.

I've gotten quotes as low as $250 for the valve adjustment and plugs, it just depends on the shop.

I would imagine doing this at the dealership would be on the higher end of that expense scale

Spark plug replacement and valve clearance adjustment is not real hard to do. You just need normal mm sockets and a feeler gauge. if you search, you will find very good instructions for DIY on this site. If you have straight feeler gauges, you should bend them up with pliers to fit them properly.

You can do this job if you can do your own brakes and oil changes and have a basic understanding of how the valve train operates. Allow 4 hr. I did not need any new gaskets. Use only OEM spark plugs--NGK I believe. You can get them at Rockauto.com at a decent price.
