Guys you can count me in any weekend! I'll just plan around it.
Dave, I checked all roads you mentioned through Google Earth and they rock!

Talking

hey guys,

I am a new owner of my Fit and i think the reason why people arent responding about the meets are because they are soo fun to drive and are probably on the streets as we speak. I find whatever excuse to go out and drive my car whenever chance I get a chance too.

Welcome to the forums, BlackCobra. You can learn a LOT about your new car here, when you are not running around for fun in your Fit.

It would be fun to go up north to a track called "ThunderHill" and run all of are Fits on the track, and have a big track meet!

October is pretty well booked for me, and I work the Saturday after thanksgiving, but other than that, I'm pretty open.

If you guys need sponsorship, I think I can get Eidos there for the hell of it =P

Can have Hitman 2, Hitman Chronicles, and such, I can setup a raffle =P

Also, my trunk may be completed by December, since I'm getting my amplifiers at the end of this month (they cost 1,200$).

Also, I was planning on having a race (not a speed one) but a race to see who gets the best mileage from point A to point B, I would give each car a number, I would take down the ODO, and at the end, I would take down the final number, do the math, and the person with the highest amount of gas would win =P

If this is a good Idea, I can get some Skunk hardware, what kind? that's up to me and my brother (we will shop around for cool Fit Hardware, stuff that stands out.

But this meet better happen with more than 20 people =P (I will be advertising FitFreak.net like crazy, I see 3 Fits in my neighborhood, maybe they will come along.

Regarding the next meet, and with the interest already expressed in a Mt. Madonna cruise, I intend to go up there on Sunday to check out the restaurant and park. Will post the info. that I collect, and I will be open for a lunch cruise any time after that.

Where exactly is Mt. Medonna? I am from Oakland so I am guessing it would take me some time to get there.

You're new here, google is your friend:

Google Maps

Clicky there, and you will get the location in GPS form, you can zoom out, it will be quite far south for you, as with me, I'm from San Carlos, but you have it easier in a way. you don't have to hit traffic as hard as people in the Peninsula.

God, another mountain trip, I need to tires... after the last meet, I so need another one.

Alex,
From your photos of the meet I thought that you must be a professional photographer, but now it turns out that you are a professional Honda salesman!

I went through this in august/Sept time frame. It took me 2 months to get it done. The white 07 is close to impossible to locate. The dealer have to swap it from Elk Grove (from SJ). Chances are they can locate 08 BLK MT and the remaining stock of 07 White MT is slim. I will jump on it hard if any dealer can locate a White 07 MT.

BC-
No date has been set yet for any next meet. I went up to Mt. Madonna today to check it out as a possible meet site, but not necessarily for a BIG meet or for any specific date. It is an 80 mile round trip for me, and today I got stuck behind a big pickup slowly towing a horse trailer.

What I found out is that the restaurant on the top of the mountain (Mt. Madonna Inn) seems to be closed. I saw ladders standing around inisde, but the doors were locked with no sign mentioning days or hours of operation. So forget the restaurant, for now, as the destination. About 100 yards past the restaurant is the entrance to Mt. Madonna County Park, and in either good, or even sketchy weather, the park is a GREAT site.

The park is full of camp sites w/BBQ grills, and has about 4 LARGE shelters (35 ft. diameter hex shaped open wall pavilions with 6-8 large table/benches, and in the center of each is a 2-1/2' wide X 5' long BBQ grill, surrounded by a brick pit, and the grill is hung by chains that can be raised or lowered with a big hand wheel). There is parking for at least 20 Fits at each of these shelters.

I have been calling this road by the wrong name. It isn't Pacheco Pass ( it IS but that name applies about 15 miles further East). Between Watsonville and Gilroy the road is named Hecker Pass. The drive is MUCH more fun coming up from the East side- from Gilroy to the top. For anyone living North of Santa Cruz County, I suggest coming down Hwy. 101 to Gilroy, then take Hwy. 152 West where the signs say "To Watsonville/Santa Cruz".
The park is right at the top of the mountain.

Macbuddy and Central Valley fitfreaks can take Hwy. 152 West all the way from Los Banos to Gilroy (where the hwy. actually is called Pacheco Pass). Ciburri & EXWRX can take 680 South to 101 South, then on to Gilroy. North Bay, Coastal and Santa Clara Valley people can take 880 South to 85 East to 101, then South to Gilroy.

The point of my going up there today was to check this place out as a possible meet site, and this would be a great destination of groups of 3-4 or even 20 or more cars. Anyone who want to meet me there for lunch, just let me know. The only weather that would make this area not so good would be torrential rain and high winds. The park is most likely closed in such situations anyway.

Oh, the young park ranger at the entrance was interested in my Fit, so I gave him a sales pitch. The dealer where I bought mine is less than an hour away, so he said he would stop there on his way home from work today.

fit meet

In some ways that is good news that the place can hold roughly 20 FITs and the road is a good place to take the Fits out for a spin. The bad is that the weather would be sketchy.

Either way I would like to make it out there. I am also wondering if any of the East bay area FIT owners, as well as anyone who can make it, would like to have a meet, possibly anywhere in the East Bay since i am in Oakland.

The problem with holding "A" Fit Meet in the Bay Area is that there are so many "areas" of the Bay Area. The park where I went today wouldn't be a terrible drive for you (East on 580, South on 680 to 101, South to Gilroy), but me writing about it doesn't mean that you shouldn't try to get Fit owners together for an East Bay meet. There should be Fit Meets all over the Bay Area, but for some reason that doesn't happen.

fit meet

It isnt that Mt. medonna is too far but just would like to meet some people around here my area who own Fits and in San Leandro Park would be a great place to hold a meet...although there wouldnt be much of a drive since there arent really open freeways around.

Well if there are anyone from the bay area who would like to meet up or what not let me know.
