Socal maintenance

Hi guys, just wanting to know if anyone has mechanics or shops that are reputable and priced right for general maintenance and upkeep of the Fit. I stopped going to the dealer as I don't want to pay for everything they require in their expensive maintenance specials (ex. oil & filter change that I would rather do on my own since I use synthetic).

Can anyone suggest anywhere around Torrance, Buena Park, or Fullerton that I can go to get my maintenance minder services done at a good price?

Since you're doing your oil changes yourself, what kind of maintenance are you looking to do? Oil change and rotate your tires is basically all you need.

I'm going by the maintenance minder schedule, and my B service is coming up in a few hundred miles:
---------------------------------------
Inspect front and rear brakes
Check parking brake adjustment
Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
Inspect suspension components
Inspect driveshaft boots
Inspect brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
Inspect all fluid levels and condition of fluids
Inspect exhaust system
Inspect fuel lines and connections
-------------------------------

I do my own oil changes and tire rotations, but I'm certainly not a mechanic and wouldn't be able to tell if certain parts of the car were damaged or need to be changed, etc. Also looking to make sure I have proof of services done in case warranty issues crop up.

thats all minor maitenance you shouldn't be going to a shop with that instead you can do it yourself thats the best way to learn your car IN and OUT.

Does anyone know any reputable mechanics around Orange County that can help with troubleshooting of the Fit? I need someone that can check all of the car including fuel system & things like air fuel ratio sensor, etc. My current mechanic is knowledgeable but he doesn't believe that my Fit's low mileage (22-24 mpg w/ KWSC) is due to a fault with the car; he thinks it's just the way this car runs contrary to mpg reports of many reputable socal owners on this forum. I'm looking to get a 2nd opinion with a close examination of all possible problems (fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, air fuel ratio sensor, cat, etc). If anyone has a personal mechanic/shop they know to be good, I'd love to know - thanks in advance.

I just bite the bullet and goto the dealership. That way Honda has a record of all of my maintenance.

For the people doing their own regular maintenance, where do you all get your consumables (air filters, oil filters, cabin filters, etc.) from? I've ordered online from Bernardi Parts in the past, but is there a place in SoCal (other than the dealership) that I can stop by and get reasonably priced OEM parts or maybe even just order online?

Power honda in costa mesa, norm reeves honda in cerritos or inlinefour in garden grove are all the places i go to.

Or if you want, you can get some of your wants and needs from a member on FF.net Note aka Ghettoboy714 hes a parts distributor and has his own shop as well. some might not be OEM but he can get them for you at a reasonable price. hes not on the forums as much as he use to be but he comes on now and then.
