Hey i've had my Fit for a few months now and i'm looking to get tint on it finally. Just hoping some of you guys might know of a decent place to go and get it done. I want quality tint and am willing to pay a good amount of money but nothing absurd. I live in Huntington Beach so anything reasonably close would be good. also if you guys have recommendations on what % tint to get that would be awesome. thx

 

I got 20% all around (that's how much light gets in) it looks pretty nice and I got a NHBP Fit. my friend can do it for you. let me know his shop is in gardena.

 

So where else is in SoCal is a good place to get window tint done?

I got mine done in pasadena. 15% tint all the way around. In cali, the tint law is that u can't have tint on the front windows anymore. Well, i didn't care for this law and got it all tinted. I was one of the lucky ones that got pulled over by CHP and got a ticket for the front windows. now i gotta get it removed, corrected, and put the tint back on.

 

there's also TW tinting phone number is (714) 543-4677. they do a good job with quality tint. more expensive though. they are the company that the dealer i got my fit from hires for dealer-installed tint. they're in santa ana

 

I would reccomend Tint Plus in Laguna Hills (949 930-1897) They are off of Moulton (Irvine Center Drive) past Lake Forest (Near Wild Rivers). Great quality and service! (No, I don't work for them!) I went with a legal (Back 5 windows) 05% for $210......w/ lifetime national warranty....I saw my Saturn's tint go purpleand peel after about 8 years....don't want to deal with that this time.

this is kinda outta way for OC peeps but ive had good experience and good jobs done at Whittier Tint Shop right off the 605 freeway.

fit came with delaer tint (which is nice a darker than expected) but ive had my civc, my moms Yukon, and dads EG Civic done there. all good and lifetime warranty bubbles, strips, or discolors just take it back with reciept and it gets removed and fresh tint back on. cant argue that.

So what exactly is legal tint in Cali? Is getting everything tinted except the front windshield ok? What's the darkest tint you can legally have?

Thanks for the Tint SHop advice milano sol!! I just called them up and got a quote for all the windows past the driver/passenger window using their Silhouette tint (has lifetime warranty) for $150 and if you want to get the Ray Guard tint (5 year warranty) it's $120. He said any shade you want for that price. and if you mention seeing the prices online its 10% off!! According to the website, they've been in business for 15 years! Sound reliable

i went through this guy who does all the at system trucks(armored vehicles) well....he did my car for 150 and a couple of other fits that i know and its great. he uses the johnson film which is really expensive and is better then solar guard and the other companies out there.

you can go to his shop, since you dont have a house here in sd he wouldnt be able to drive to it of course.(but he does drive to the locals)

lifetime warranty and its a great job. i rock 5% around the back and 20% up front. i never get messed with.

i got mine done at sunrise window tint i think. i forget the name. its off moran st. in westminster....140 for limo tint in the back windows plus my driver side windows and visor strip

Me and all my friends went there and I've never had any problems. I don't have a fit so I'm not sure what he would charge for one though :P

 

I'm buying an '08 NHBP Fit Sport and want to get some tinting done. With the CA law that doesn't allow any tinting on the windshield or front side windows, what would you guys recommend getting done? Is there any concern that it could look weird if the front is completely clear and the rest of the windows are too dark?

If anyone has some pictures, that would be greatly appreciated.

Also if there are any tinting shop recommendations on the Westside (Santa Monica, Venice, West LA, etc).

 

Yeah, i was pretty pissed when i got a tint ticket. There are fucken ballin ass cars on the daily running around with limo in the front and even tint on the windshield and never get pulled over or get tickets. Fuck THE POLICE!
