Well no actually... I took a peek yesterday on Canada Used Autos, Cars, Trucks, Boats, Motorcycles Online Classified Ads - AutoTrader.ca website just for sh!ts and giggles.. to my surprise, the Fit is selling for more used than new... here in Alberta that atleast.

Don't believe me? Do a search for 2007 Honda Fit, Select Region: Alberta and Sub Region: ALL and you'll see something that I thought was ridiculous..

I saw a 2007 Honda Fit LX w/3001 kms at Alberta Honda selling for $23,995!!!!!

There's also 2 DX models at the High River, Alberta dealership with 16,600 and 13,600 kms and they are both selling for 16,905!!!

Those prices do not include GST since they aren't private sales too. So add 6%!

Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the LX about $19,500 after tax (6% GST), and the DX about $17,000 NEW?!?!?!

Asking price is one thing, selling price is another. Odds are this pricing trend will disappear soon.

Just bought a Fit! Where's my money?

I just went to the dealer to pick-up my 2007 LX on monday, I'm so happy!

I tought that the Fit figured on the Governement's list but appanrantly it doesn't. For those of you who got the from for the Honda Benefit program, did you have to pester them by phone or through a Dealer or you just received the form automatically by mail?

Since the gevernement program is not even up and running yet, I guess I lucked-out on choosing the Fit then!

The $1000 rebate should already be factored into the purchase price of the vehicle.

It was indeed!

I guess it's no good to buy a car, then leave for europe for 3 weeks, then come back, sign the papers and pick-up the car!

Thanks!

I'm looking into buying a new Fit, would this $1000 rebate thing be still in effect for 2008 models?

Id say Honda Canada will wait and see if the Govt's Eco Auto program will accept the Fit for 2008. Im awaiting this news too. Im sure Honda Canada would rather have the govt pay us the $1000 than Honda. haha.

Still waiting on the 2008s...

Eligible Vehicles - ecoAUTO - Transport Canada

Apparently the fit does apply for ECO-Auto 2008. However, refunds have yet to be issued to anyone who's made the requests. People have been waiting as far back as March 2007 for their refunds. Lots of people are getting upset by this. Why are they taking so long? At this point, it's all in Transport Canada's hands.

I've personally applied for the $1000 refund when I picked up my FIT a few weeks ago. Sadly, even from the beginning I had a feeling It was gonna take a long time before I was going to receive it in the mail.

Don't be so shocked. That's the Fed-Gov for ya.

EcoAUTO Rebate dishonest sales tactic

I bought a Fit back in November and I love it! At the time the 2008 rebate list was not out yet, but the salesperson led us to believe that our 2008 Fit would be eligible so we purchased the car. They even helped me by emailing me the application form and I sent it in.

Not surprisingly I didn't get the rebate as I bought an automatic Fit, and now the sales person is sorry for the confusion and that they said it "might" apply and they couldn't have promised it "would" apply as they themselves didn't know if it would apply.

Has anyone else ran into this? Was it only us that got tricked this way? I'm really disappointed in Honda and if this happened to other people they should try to make this right. Let me know.

Thanks. Peter
