2015 No power to Hatch Back Release
2015 No power to Hatch Back Release
QUESTION
Is the Smart Key Button on the Hatch Back (HB) supposed to LOCK/UNLOCK all doors? Currently the Smart Key Button on the HB will only LOCK all doors; it does not UNLOCK any door.
DISCREPANCY
My HB will not open/release; I have the FOB within 16" of the outside of the HB and the FOB works with all other doors, LOCK/UNLOCK.
VEHICLE
2015 Honda EX, with Smart Key Entry with Security, which means I cannot open the HB with a key since there is no key lock on the HB. I can manually open the HB from inside the vehicle.
ACTIONS TAKEN
Already ruled out lock HB mechanism dragging or getting stuck in the latched position. I put my ear against the HB outer skin and could not hear any solenoid releasing or any noise what so ever. Also I was told by the original owner that HONDA dealer ruled out a faulty latch mechanism. FOBs check out fine.
BACKGROUND
Minor accident to passenger front finder which required fuse block A in the engine compartment to be replaced. Why the fuse block was replaced, unknown, since it is located on the driver's side. Once the fuse block A was replaced by a local mechanic, the HB would not open/release. Honda dealer could not fix the HB discrepancy, wiring and latch mechanism checked out fine.
ACTION NEED
I am trying to understand the logic So I want to start with if there power to both the HB’s release and Smart Key Button. I don’t know how the Honda Fit is supposed to work properly and the owner’s manual doesn’t cover in great detail involving the HB. I will probably need to ask several questions since I don’t know the extent of the discrepancy. Also I know the HB release/lock and Smart Key Button are two independent systems but is one wire harness.
Respectfully, Mike
