Motor Oil?

I'm about to do the first oil change on my fit, I'm just carious as to how you guys do this, do you do it on your own? or do you take it to your dealer?

and what kind oil do you use? I have always used Royal Purple, what do you guys suggest?

I did it myself - this is the first car I've done it myself on, and it's probably the easiest out there. Honda is known for their ease of routine maintenance.
If you've got some jack stands and a hydraulic lift (I picked up a set of 2 stands and lift for ~30 bucks at wal-mart) and you've got general mechanic know-how I think you can do it. Under the car the drain bolt is clearly marked, just use some leverage and you can break it free. Make sure you have something to drain the oil in, preferably a catch can, again wal-mart or similar super dept. stores have them for like 8 bucks. Get the bolt off, watch it drain, get a oil filter wrench or if you're strong enough just twist loose the oil filter - It's nearby, you can't miss it, it's blue in color if you have an OEM one. Make sure to fill the new oil filter with some oil, and also rub it around the rubber seal. Then, replace the drain bolt and filter, top off the engine with new oil under the hood, and run the car. Also - refer to your owners' manual for how to reset the oil life counter thing. It's easy, I just don't remember the exact process.

I'd say if you've got general knowledge and some patience you can do this easily and save yourself a chunk of change at the dealer.
