Automated Car Wash

Does anyone on this forum use an automated car wash? I have a 2007 fit sport and am concerned that the low body kit will be damaged by the conveyor guide rails.

i run my FitS through my manned local touchless carwash. car's lowered on DF210's, even running 195/50/15. no issues with scraping. i was a bit concerned at first, but no issue.

but all carwash places are different...

I have sent my VBP Sport thu one of those touchless washes at the gas station. (Not the ones with the big rotating things, just the spray ones) I have also sent it thru one of the ones with rails that people wipe down and such. No issues to speak of.

i dread using ours at my work but when i'm lazy i do use ours. It's a brush one. I used it like twice the whole 5 months i had my fit. Hey if it's good enough for BMWs, Infinitis, Land Rovers...it's good enough for a honda....wait no it's not hahah

OH YEAH! I forgot about that. The back hatch due to the spoiler doesnt get cleaned very well on those automated places. No big though cause I just wipe it down after.

the touchless place that i take my car to cleans the rear just fine.

it has special camera guided jets that shoots soap water like a machine gun on
blue thunder. $15 including tip. exterior wash, undercarriage, and wipe down.

kenchan: touchless usually cleans the back up just fine, but automated's aren't totally touchless. there's just no people touching them.!

whenever i take mine to a totall touchless, it usually does the job decently, but anytime brushes or those rotating sponge things slap it up, there is always a section on either side of the upper hatch that stil has grime because the spoiler partially blocks it.

i try not to let machines do my cars anyway, i feel more satisfied when its me. but they are great in an emergency though!

You guys are lucky, I have had nothing but problems with
automatic carwashes, first it ripped off one of those black
strips on the roof. then all my rims got scratched on the
inside, from the railing, where the carwash pulls the vehicle
through it. And Just the other day, I hit something driving
into the carwash, it damaged one of my rims in the middle.
So be carefull!!!
Go touchless,
and drive thru, not pull thru!

the only human touching the paint is the wipe down where i go. it
is completely touchless during the wash. it's a state of the art wash
facility. if you see this place you'll be amazed with the jets they have.

everything stated above is all the same for me.....only touchless exept leaves grim from the spoiler

HOWEVER i have used a touch carwash...only 4-5 times.....have a managers code so its free for me ...exept once it left soap scum all over my car, and i saw swirl marks after using it the few times i did....so those free car washes got revenge on my car

it's better than crusty salt on the car, so i'd take some soap spots that
i'll just polish off when it gets warmer vs rust.

today i took my car to my usual touchless wash place, had it wiped down
and on the way back to the office pigeons overhead from powerlines dropped
some while i was waiting for the light.

for a second i thought Spring was here...

yep, i was working on the car yesterday and noticed that my
mid pipe hanger is pretty rusted already. not that it's going to
break-off or anything since it's mostly surface rust, but i do under-
carriage wash each time i take the car to the wash. typically once
a week. imagine wat the car could look like if it wasn't washed at
all...salt's some strong stuff.

some states use more than just rock salt in their mix, i know MD is one of them that its still legal. destroys the paint/undercarriage. i think there is about 7 states that still use the chemical mixes with their salt...anybody else have any info on which states are still using them?
