b17gsr -- thanks for the link. Indeed similar to what I was proposing. This isn't the design I remember (which was from about 15-20 years ago) but similar indeed. I'll just plug along for now and see what I come up with. Located a Renesas M16C embedded development kit (WAY OVERKILL FOR THIS APP) -- the price was great (free) so I'll try to scab one together from that.

I'm not going down the track that Yuf is... but I thought I would status where I was anyway.

I wrote the sw for my little experiment and got it running on the Renesas M16C embedded development kit (about 1 inch square). Then I promptly got busy on other stuff and lost interest. The circuit is designed to install back in the hatch near the wiper motor - intercepting the 3-line power, ground, & control lines and routing them into my little circuit before continuing on to the wiper motor. I'm too busy (and not patient enough) to dig into finding a relay that can be driven by the output control pin of the M16C and twiddling up a low-loss voltage converter (12VDC -> 3.3/5V DC). If some electronic hobbyist out there wants to take a shot, contact me and we can share the 10s of thousands of dollars we can make for selling these at $50 bucks a pop :-)

I don't remember if anyone looked at the 07 CRV wiper stalk. It looks like the same one as the Fit but has the variable intermittent switch for the front.

- Part Number 14 -

And clicking here should get you to a price list for the diagram.

i have figured out that the one from the pilot is the same, but our cars are missing the two wires from the harness.. i been looking for a pilot service manual to figure out what those two missing wires are and hope to get it working

Bump....

So has anyone made any progress in this? My little experiment is currently gathering dust but I thought I might try to finish a prototype this summer. Didn't want to bother if someone had already found a more direct solution.

Dont kill me but I didnt read everything in this post..

If you wanted to do this with the front wipers couldnt you just use the pilot multifunction switch and also get the intermintent wiper controller box and wire it all up.. Im not saying its plug and play but wiring it shouldnt be all that bad..

Thanks for the info. I hope this will inspire a fellow Fit Freak member to create a module and offer it in a Group Buy. I would be the first one on the list!
And while I am dreaming, why not create a module for the rear wiper?

Any progress on this?

I'm considering buying a Fit but the lack of variable intermittent windshield wipers is a no-go for me.

Thanks
