D50,

I'll let you know, I just did the repair on mine using polycarbonite, the same as lexan I thnk. I did make a mess out of the sealant though, next time I'm going to clamp the lexan to the housing then apply the sealant. I will install it tomorrow. I just ordered the Head light armor GT yellow film to protect the other side, I'll give you a heads up on that too although I've heard nothing but good things about their product.

just confirming that they do melt. i've had my replacement on for over a good year now and its intact, yet you can still see soft points that have melted over time (stopped using the fog lights since)

still exploring glass replacement. will post if I find any updates.

I tried this procedure and I didn't use enough clamps, needless to say it turned out like a train wreck. I used sealant opposed to epoxy. I also used 1/8 thick polycarbonite. Other than the clamps any other thoughts? Thanks.

In another post, I read we should use LED bulbs to avoid the heat on the lexan...

the problem with the clamps is that you need several of them to hold all the pressure points down until the sealant takes effect. besides that, the only alternatives I can see are some heavy duty tape to suspend it (at the risk of some major sticky residue after pulling it off)
