Exclamation Headlamp maintenance help!!!

So i bought some headlights from ebay...those blue bulbs for 12 bucks...installed them...looked nice for the first couple weeks...but then my right headlight just went out out of nowhere...checked it out and the headlamp connector was fried...headlamp reflector looks like its been kinda burnt by the bulb...and the plastic cover plate for the headlamp is now looking foggy...so i replaced the headlamp connector...replaced the bulb with the old one...and tried to clean the reflector from the hole where the headlight goes...couldnt really clean much..but i noticed that the silver part on the reflector was coming off...so i stopped...and just left it alone...now my right headlamp isnt as bright as the left one because of the reflectors...what should i do??? should i just get a new right headlamp? and why did my headlamp connector get fried?? was it because of the bulb from ebay??help help help!

those "blue" bulbs get their color from having a filter on the glass that only lets blue light out... but the filter itself will cause the bulb to dim. So to counter that, the bulb makers have the materials burn hotter, therefor brighter to make up for it.

And when it gets hot enough... you get melted connectors.

the peeling that you see means it got cooked enough for the adhesive to burn away.

you have two solutions:

try to fix it

replace it.

fixing it may not be worth it if you don't know what you're doing... and most of us don't have the means to do it anyway (the reflector is a very thin layer of aluminum)... so just replace it.
