Question about swapping fog light assemblies on a 2007 Fit Sport

I have a 2007 Fit Sport with a broken fog lamp lens. I bought a fog lamp assembly with bezel attached on ebay with the intention of removing the lamp assembly from the bezel and swapping it in (colors don't match). However, one of the screws that holds it in place on the bezel refuses to turn. Is it just that the screw is fused or otherwise stuck or is this actually designed so that the lamp and bezel cannot be separated?

I've owned this car for 3 years (my parents owned it before me) and I am getting it ready to sell it and want to clean up little things like this to make it more desirable. Thanks!

Hi there. I'm not quite sure which screw you are talking about at this time; however, I should be able to still help you. Coincidentally, I picked up some OEM Fit Base fog lights, removed them from the housings so I can put lamin-x protective film on the lenses and reassembled them while taking pictures of most of the steps.

If you can wait, I should have the thread up within 24 hours that may help you.

If not, there should be just two screws you'll need to remove the remove the lens housing (which the actual fog light bulb goes in) from the fog light cover. I used 10mm 6-point socket to remove the fog light assembles from the bumper and a PH1 screwdriver to remove both the screws on fog light housings.

Before removing, you will see that there is a metal tab that rides on a spring attached to the rear of the fog light lens. This is for adjusting the aim of the light, only unscrew the part that directly screws into the lens and not tighten/loosen the screw that has a spring surrounding it.

Now if you look to the side of the housing, facing about 90 degrees in relation to the metal tab is another screw that has to be removed. You may need to hit it with some PB Blaster, WD-40, get a slightly larger tipped screwdriver, etc to get it to break loose due to road grime but it needs to be removed in order to get the housing out. Reverse disassemble procedure to reassemble.

awesome thanks. It's the second screw that's giving me difficulty and I suspected that I might need some WD-40 to get it out but I figured I'd check with people who know more about this than me. I'll get a can tomorrow and get back to work on it.

Just to update - never was able to get the screw out - it was totally fused/corroded in place. I ended up breaking the head off with a vise grips and drilling it out, then re-tapping the threads on the lamp assembly itself. It's now finally ready to go back in, now I just have to pull the broken one off the car.
