Uhaul installation caused electrical problem

After having Uhaul install a hitch, I have lost all my interior lights including the dashboard and my lights no longer flash when I lock or unlock the car. They say it is not their problem because they do not cut any wires during the installation. What should I look for? How do I fix this?

This is a 2008 Fit Sport.

look at the fuse box under the Dash. look for the "BACK UP" fuse which should be a 7.5A (brown) fuse maybe a 10A. see if its blown.

Thank you for the suggestion. I thought it was a fuse too, but it turns out that none of the fuses are blown. I suspect they cut a wire, but I really don't want Uhaul working on my car any more. I have a cross-country trip hauling a trailer coming up in a week. I am going to take it to a mechanic and if it turns out that Uhaul caused the problem, I am going to ask for documentation including pictures but I am going to have the mechanic fix the problem. I will then attempt to get reimbursement from Uhaul. That should be interesting. We are dealing with 3 states. I live in CT, the car and the guilty Uhaul dealer are in FL, and we are going to end up in CA.

I gave this car to my granddaughter. She is moving from FL to CA, and I am flying down to FL to help her make the move.

I would look around where U-Azzes connected their wiring. Possible they did connect to a wrong wire and blew a fuse then removed the wire. Also check for a cut wire.

I do not have a GD diagram but my GE has a number of fuses that relate to your problems . I would check them again.

It was a fuse

My granddaughter brought it to her mechanic, and $94 later, he had replaced the blown fuse he had found. I am not sure which one it was, but my son-in-law was unable to find it even after I gave him the info that was given to me in this forum. However, before he even looked, he had made up his mind that a wire had been cut, so I don't think he looked too hard.

Now now be nice to the SinL. Well glad you found the problem at least. I suppose you could bitch to U-Haul about blowing a fuse but doubt it would do much good. Ah daughters and their cars. Mine keeps me busy with the 05 Civic Si I bought her last Fall.
