Opinions needed on a/t strength

I am wanting to add a 50hp shot of nitrous using a NX import efi kit, do you guys/gals think the stock 5at will stand up to this much power increase as long as i add a tranny cooler and switch to synthetic fluid? The engine has the following mods already: T1R intake and test pipe, Megan header, Aspec axle back. opinions would be greatly appreciated

you will kill the honda tranny when you use synthetic.... ALWAYS use honda ATF only! trust me on this. oh and i don't think you should have a tranny problem with juice. you should be fine.

T minus 'x' seconds before 03DSM-RSX responds! Some of this was discussed in the AT cooler thread.

Besides taking action to reduce the heat (which will increase as a result of higher torque through the trans) there isn't much you can do until the aftermarket develops a hi-performance kit for the Fit w/ upgraded clutch packs, etc. There really isn't a good way to tell how much power it will take before breaking...it is more going to be a function of how long will it last before breaking...and this will certainly be reduced as a function of increased power.

LOL school started. kept me nicely occupied since.

as for nitrous+auto trans. keep it stock and maintain your car as you should. nothing should come to harm. you're spraying in a small 15sec or less window, unlike constant boosting with a turbo or supercharger. the spray should be cut off way before redline anyways so when the trans shifts, its not experiencing that high torque load.

Amsoil synthetic ATF has been proven (and approved) to work on Honda auto trans. No additives needed unlike Redline's fluid that needs Lubeguard High Friction Modifiers. But stock Honda Z1 ATF is fine for the job, but may need replacing sooner as a preventive measure.
