engine mounts from innovative
latest updates
It's been a long time coming but finally the mounts went to paint last week. They should ship sometime this week.
Inovaive redesigned the tranny mount and the side mount. I am hopefuly going to get some pics from them before they ship em so if i do i will put em up ASAP.
Patience is not one of my strong points but it will be worth it when i see em.

They are shipping today! They took pics but i have not recieved them yet. Hopefully i will have them by the end of the week.
The folks at innovative are great. Didn't have to pay a cent for the new mounts which included custom blue colored urethane and a 2 stage custom silver/blue wash paintjob. They didn't even charge me to shp em.
I'll keep ya posted and when i get them i will put up some detailed pics.

OK here's some pics for ya!!!
Hopefully i will have them by the end of the week. The one in the middle is the side mount which was completely redesigned. Left is rear engine mount and right is A/T tranny mount.
Next is installation and results!

you might have some trouble getting the tranny mount on. mines looked exactly like that. (except different color and casting) it may seem like it doesnt want to align with the bolts, but you'll get it in eventually.
did you use a jack under the engine for support or an engine lift? I have both available but if a jack will suffice that would be easier i guess. I will not be putting it under the oil or tranny pans BTW
YES, you need to use a jack with a 2x4 piece of wood to support tranny and oil pan. lift it to where the engine is no longer putting 100% weight on the stock mount anymore.
for the passenger side mount, support the oil pan. for tranny side, support the tranny. for rear, oil pan again.
be sure you have the car high up on jack stands to give some leverage in lifting engine up and down. sometimes you may need to adjust the jack a bit so the mounts align with the holes.
BE CAREFUL when removing and installing the bolts back on. WHen removing them, try to guesstimate to see if the mount sits center to the bolt, so when removing, it does not strip.
When installing the bolts back in, thread in by HAND until its tight. then use wrench and torque the bolts down to spec.

Mounts are GO!
Installed the mounts today. Took about 4 hours. On a scale of 1 to 10 installation was a 6. That was with 2 people and airtools. There was one pre-production problem with the tranny mount but i was able to get it in just fine. I have notified Innovative and i am sure they will be taking care of it.
Props to Gettinafit for the help with the install!
Anyways, here are my impressions:
- the construction of the mounts is TOP NOTCH! They are fantastic. All OEM hardware was re-used in installation.
- Initial startup has noticably more vibrations. It took a minute forthe car to fully warm up but once it did vibrations reduced significanlty.
- Yes it does vibrate some and you hear much more of the engine but it is not as bad as i thought. I drove the car home 50 miles and on the highway vibration was nominal.
- Cabin vibration is suprisingly nominal. My radar detector was vibrating but it did that before. Fixed that when i got home. The Fit interior has it's quirks with noise. The mounts have made some of those noises more dominant. But that is to be expected. But i was expecting worse and was pleasantly surprised.
*remember i have a 75A rear mount. The 2 sides are 60A. I would say that a 60A rear mount would reduce the vibrations even more.
Now for performance:
- Throttle response is 100% better. Accelleration is smooth and lag between shifts has been noticably reduced.
- S mode is now more like a true manual. By that i mean that upshifts and especially downshifts are instantanious. Before if i downshifted it would pause at least a second after the tap for it to kick in. Now it is tap and GO!
Here's some pics. I will be putting up a full DIY soon!
Peace!

Above is the tranny mount installed.

lol i told you that the tranny mount would have a slight issue. it seems its like that with all innovative tranny mounts. but its usually worked around just fine.
that last pic doesnt seem like its bolted all the way thru...
hmm.....i DID contribute something to the Fit
Leonine finished it off
