What gauges do I need to go with a Turbo?
I wasn't just going for looks on gauges. I needed to know what kind to get and what it does with why I need it. Yes this is my first Turbo, but its also good to get as much info as I need to help maintain it so I don't mess up my engine. I'm going with Boost Gauge, Oil Pressure gauge, Water Temp gauge and a Wideband from AEM. That will be my gauge set-up
look into the apexi tru boost. it is a boost gauge and electronic boost controller in one and i would recommend you column mount it so it is readily in your line of sight as you check engine rpm. good electronic boost controllers do a better job of keeping consistent boost pressures as ambient air temp changes.
as for the others, i would recommend you mount those somewhere low and out of the way. those gauges aren't the sorts of things that you need to scan continuously. and avoid pillar mounting of gauges if you want to keep the riffraff away.

A boost gauge would be pretty helpful. Otherwise it all depends on what gauge pod your gonna get. There are a whole bunch of gauges you could get. Air/fuel ratio (not really needed but cool) Oil temp, Water temp, Oil pressure, Voltage, Exhaust pressure........ I would stick with boost, water temp, and oil pressure but thats my opinion. Its all up to what you want to keep tabs on. How are you gonna mount the gauges and how many are you gonna get?
