10 lbs would be about 173 hp
12 lbs would be about 187 hp

This is assuming 100% VE, and of course my intake air temps (which are quite high some have stated in PMs)

You start running into some interesting turbo choices at the point of adding boost... now whether or not the engine can handle that much boost is a little over my head... it will require a lot more fuel, and you will have a problem with knock if you don't use some very high octane fuel.

did some more calculations from a few formulas in on of my turbo books. and based off 130' inlet temps, 6500 rpm, I found that our engine at 145whp(approx 170bhp) at 6psi(like a few of the kits) have roughly 112% VE based off the equations in the book. based off that it should take about 13.2psi (assuming an absolute ambient pressure of 14.7 so factor in for that) to make 200whp(or ~234bhp) at 112%ve or if you even figure 100%ve at 6800rpms will take approx 15psi.

also have calculated pressure ratio's for pressure drop accross the Intercooler and factoring in pressure drop through the air filter.(assuming 14.7psi ambient pressure once again) factors used: air filter ~1psi drop and IC ~1.5psi drop.

6 psi 1.62 PR
8 psi 1.76 PR
10 psi 1.91 PR
12 psi 2.05 PR
15 psi 2.28 PR

now the interesting part lets throw some elevation into the mix. just for memory's sake 6400ft elevation was roughly 11.5psi ambient on a cool day so we'll use that for reference. same factors for air filter/ic drop.

6 psi 1.81 PR
10 psi 2.19 PR
15 psi 2.67 PR

just some more variables for those who are thinking about boosting at elevation. it can change you mind on turbo choices in a hurry. also temprature has a big factor in this as well. colder air has a higher density which ultimatly effects DA(density altitude or in simpler terms barometric pressure)

oh for mapping purposes 145whp at 112% VE equated to 18.4lb/min and 200whp equated to 25.92lb/min for those whould like to know.

here is my compressor of choice.
tried to put the plots down in color but it wouldn't do it for some reason??
the plots are at 6,8,10, and 13psi factoring 112%ve and on paper this turbo would be maxed at approx 228whp at a PR of ~2.3(17-18psi) in the higher boost levels VE will drop. my guess would be in the 90-100% range by 12-18psi area. obviously the turbine side, exhaust, tune, octane of fuel, ect all play a big role.

p.s. to convert lb/min to cfm multiply it by 14.47.

Just wanted to add that the Sabb turbo listed in the first post in the thread is actually a T3 not a T25(I think)....not sure if that matters or not in your calculations. Actually, the Sabb is the exact turbo I bought for my turbo build!Thanks for all the great info!

you may not want to admit it, but yeah, modding solely for looks is kinda ricer ish.

ricers mod their cars to look like they are fast when they are not...how is modding to make your fit look more expensive than it is not ricer?
