questions regarding clutch installation...
well i planned on having my clutch and flywheel put in thursday, got off work was about to ride up there and drop off my car. got a call from the shop who was supposed to be putting in my clutch. apparently they talked to a mechanic at a honda dealership who says you need a bunch of expensive special tools that you can only get through honda dealers. also that you have to do an alignment and a few other things after you change your clutch on the honda fit. and that the honda mechanic has never changed a honda fit clutch for under 1,100$...the honda fit clutch assembly is apparently waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay different than ANY honda clutch...is any of this true? i have the fit service manual and read the steps for a clutch replacement and flywheel...it mentions nothing about an alignment and the 'special' tools look like they can be bought pretty cheap considering what they look like. any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
ah i pieced my clutch through college hills honda and didnt get any alignment tool ;/ guess i need to order that...isnt that the same thing as a clutch set tool? shouldnt a reputable garage have several different sized clutch set tools? or is the alignment tool different...?
found friends phone number, stopped by his garage a little bit ago, bringin it over to his house tomorrow morning ;] woo! he took a look at it and thinks the guys who told me the previous stuff didnt know what they were talking about or were trying to getting over on me...
