While I'm sorry to see a fitfreaker leave the FI community, I'm just as glad to see a new member! Leonine's link is very good, and the AEM Power forums are very useful for info on the F/IC. I also have a guide on this forum that I wrote up with the help of some other forum members. It's a thread in this forum, titled something like "how to tune the Greddy Emanage". It's more Emanage-specific, but the principles and math are all the same. My advice would be to lurk some more, download the FIC software (FREE!) and play around with it.

If you have any questions, feel free to pm me, or make a post about it. We're all here to learn as much as we can.

friend called, wants a hand installing AEM water meth kit.
ie..... large triple triple and reading instructions... sounds intersting.. It can hook up to the ecu retard timing/ boost when water/meth runs low...
might be yet another thing to look into.. mabe i will post my findings in the water meth thread.. more reaserch and more coffie... yum

why does this F/IC thing comes with vacuum hose? so you can feed vacuum directly to F/IC? to read boost??

im thinking of getting the AEM F/IC package. sounds like its a workable platform.

no just to read boost but it is a built in map sensor and that's how you build your fuel/ignition maps

how come the emanage doesn't have to use an external map sensor?

Correct me if im wrong, but i think the emanage uses the stock map sensor, i think that's why people got the CEL's for it.
F/IC can cap the maximum voltage that the stock ecu will receive thus the stock ecu will never read positive boost.

if you are not going to get the boomslang harness (dont see why you would want to wire it up yourself but thats just me) then you would intercept the red/green wire on connector A pin 30 with the 2 MAF wires.

Then run the vacuum line through the firewall. 1 side connects to the AEM the other tee into the vacuum line for the pcv.

On the setup screen for MAF input select MAP and enter 2.9 volts to clamp (exactly 14.8). The you can tune your fuel and ignition maps based on the AEM's map sensor/rpm while clamping the stock one so the ecu never sees boost.

no problem. make sure you are using the latest version of the software (3.04) and that you calibrate the rpms/tps before you begin.

EDIT: just saw you were in China. Not sure if the ecu pinouts differ for the JDM/EDM versions so double-check.

A31 i believe but i will double check when i get home in a couple of hours. My service manual has more detailed pinout explanations.

A31 sounds plausible, AFS+ seems like it would be Air/Fuel signal Pos.

If leonine can't find it in his shop manual I'll go pull my boomslang harness out from under my glovebox and have a look-see.

I've made a bunch of changes, mostly to the O2 map, and a little to the fuel map.

I also richened up my idle a hair (to 14.3) to smooth out the idle. I need to adjust my valves, I think. I'm gonna do that this weekend.

Do you wanna see my new map? I'd be glad to email it to you.

yes please i would appreciate it. Have you gotten any MIL's with the new map or is it pretty stable. I adjusted my valves this past weekend. Made a big difference at idle and low rpms. They were way off.
