I'm glad I looked into this. I was considering it, but since I heard it was crappy, I let that pass

most certainly they are a regrind.

also wanted to add that I have yet to hear anything good about cat cams. communication with them was difficult at best (and we're not talking getting answers to tech questions, simply placing an order). The one person who managed to get a set from them blew a very expensive engine because apparently they messed up one of the followers on the cam (can't substantiate his claims other than he was quite pissed at them).

that cam pic is NOT a VTEC cam!!!

Being a former B16A2 owner (G-d! How I missed that engine! ) and tinker-er, I can that I know for sure that cam aint a REAL VTEC cam. Unless Honda has REALLY changed how VTEC operates, that cam should have multiple sets of 3 lobes for each cylinder with the middle one being the largest. Im sure y'all know all of that, but there may be a noob somewhere reading this and not know otherwise!

Also, ive heard that the VTEC engines arent fond of re-grind cams for some reason or another. not sure why-just what ive heard. I NEVER would use one. All of my fellow B-series owners just used Skunk2 or OEM Type-R cams...oh and Toda as well.....maybe Toda has some for us or will now that its here in the US? just a thought! Now I must go and check on my 2.5 year old son b4 he burns down my apartment complex!!

Honda calls it VTEC, but really it's just that one intake valve is unused below 3400 RPM (2000 RPM at full throttle).

meh, its important to find first hand feedback one way or another.

the platform I have experience with is the mondeo/contour/cougar, and this is from YEARS ago. And like I said, there were only a small handful of people that got them and I can't say anyone successfully used them (although theres many other factors in play concerning that).

just quickly browsing the deep archives

Ive heard a lot of problems on vwvortex.com about them and it was not even about the cams. People have a hard time getting in touch with them.
