Isn't a K20 swap cheaper than a KWSC kit? or about the same price??

a K swap... motor/trans only goes for 3k+... then u need the mounts... then u need the hondata flash... then u need custom axles, then u need a custom header. so... no it is not cheaper or about the same price.

If a K20 swap was a better deal I would still be saving money instead of installing the KWSC High Boost kit..... KWSC is much less labor intensive also.

pricing out a full k-swap is around 10k +/- 2k. would make your car awesome, but i think it doesn't justify the cost.

a good set of tires and an excellent driver will always embarrass average drivers in "higher end sports cars" as long as the course isn't too straight

I finally let the kid down the road talk me into doing some 0 to 60 runs. My worst was 8 seconds because of wheel spin in first and second and having to work the steering wheel to go straight up to 40 MPH when the tires hooked up.... I improved it a little and was in the 7 second area... On the 3rd time I was easy on the throttle but still spinning the wheels a little and was able to pull off a low 6 second run.... The kid and I together are over 400 pounds, the gas tank was full, I had heavy 16" tires and wheels on it with 320 tread rating and the timer we used didn't measure in 10ths 100ths or 1000ths but the kid hit the stop button on the timer when I said stop and I was seeing 60 on the speedometer at the time I did it.

K24 or KWSC

I'm still torn between a K24 swap and the high boost kit from KW. Right now I am negotiating a brand new TSX k24a2 motor with K20a Type R Tranny for 3750$. + mounts (250), + kpro (1000), axles (350), headers (300), and Labor I'm looking at around 6-7,000$

How much did the high boost kit run you including extra parts, labor, and everything?

I came from selling my Lancer Evolution 8 that was running 22lbs boost, 350WHP, for the fit; with the original plan to do a K20 or K24 swap from the money I had selling the EVO parts.

So right now the fit is my DD, and just trying to find the best possible route to go, and finding the pro/cons for both situations. The only thing holding me back from SCKW is lets say I spend 4K on that kit alone for a max SOHC limited to <200HP I would either get bored with 170 WHP when I could spend the same amount on the motor and pay for extra for parts and labor that would start me off at 220HP/190 Torque stock.

Some feedback with your experience would be appreciated

David

your also forgetting shifter box or shifter kit from someplace like hybrid racing. shifter cables if urs doesn't have em. also you will have to do something about your gauges cause ur stock ones dont work without the stock ecu. your also missing a few other things. rad hoses. clutch line.

i looked in to doing a kswap on my integra almost did it than i got the fit i was gona kswap it but decided its not worth it. but a KW's kit i would defently do from wat i under stand it is a crazy difference because of the high torque gains

I think I spent around $4400.00 total on purchases from Kraft Werks... There is always someone selling headers and other exhaust parts used but it dynos 163 HP an gobs more torque with only an after market axle back.... Header, cat delete, B pipe and axle back pipe of 2 1/2" diameter makes a huge difference in mid to upper RPM with a slight loss on the bottom end... Even with the loss on the bottom my tires don't completely hook up until I am to at least 40 MPH in 2nd gear. Wheel spin from full throttle starts at 2500 RPM cost at least 2 seconds on a 0 to 60 run.

How did you only spend 4400 total for kraftwerks high boost + spark plugs (I am sure you got those). The kit alone is 4500.

I was guesstimating.... I got My base kit when they were first released at a reduced price of about $200.00 or so less and later did the upgrade... The advertised price for the High Boost Kit right now is $4495.00.... It is easy for me to forget what I paid for things when I pay cash and enjoy what I bought.....It is easy to remember the money spent on things that fall short of meeting my expectations or I get tired of.... Typing that last sentence created an unpleasant flashback of a large stream of former girlfriends and wives. I think I'll have a glass of brandy and see if the picture will go away.

I am very satisfied. The base kit was very refined and worked flawlessly, used just slightly more fuel, something like a loss of 2 MPG. Very hot weather really brought the power down on it though... The high boost set up is a completely different animal that has you rotating your tires frequently or buying new front ones in 6000 or less miles and bringing fuel mileage down to 26 MPG or less if you become boost happy .... The low boost noise is quieter than an after market intake and there is very little noise otherwise that I can hear but rock stars and combat veterans don't hear all that well... I can sometimes hear what I think may be the traction drive planetary CVT making a whirring noise at 2000 to 3000 RPM at light throttle. It is crazy how fast you go from 40 MPH to 110 in less distance than 80 stock... I loved the way my 38 year old son would scream like a little bitch when I took him for a ride with the base kit and start begging me to slow down mid way through 3rd gear. I wish he would let me take him for a ride now. He climbs towers for a living and is trained in high altitude tower rescue.
