Like, all loud and nasty? Remove the resonators, and make sure the person does a sub-par job on the whole system for that "signature sound."

Any cat delete or test pipe will result in what you want plus snap, crackle and pop rice crispy sounds when you down shift to slow down... Like Hayden said about the resonator will give you the extra high pitch you need to make your car visually resonate between 3000 and 4500 RPM.

if you want a cackling exhaust note, no mufflers/resonators

While we're on the test-pipe/gutted-cat topic.... would either/or give you a CEL? Or perhaps fail a smog test for emissions? any info/experience with this is helpful. (i know... there's alot of "/" in there lol)

Fail smog test probably yes. Just keep stock and switch before inspection. I have aspec test pipe and it comes with cel fix. All it is is a extended bung for the o2 sensor. Most pipes have these available. I have mine coated and wrapped to eliminate alot of the raspy sound, but is off car until inspection next month.

try removing your resonater first, that makes no impact on smog.. and if you still want more noiseee

YouTube - Fit exhaust clip - Cat Delete, B-Pipe, HFP muffler

and if you REALLY want noise
