Hey guys found a guy local to me selling a k24a2 motor out of a 03 accord for 400 bucks. He says only thing not with it is the alternator and tb. 65k miles on it. He said he got it out of a junkyard from a roll over. What you guys think? And the. He has a k20 tranny to go with it asking 750. I offered him 950 for it and he said deal. Whatyou guys think?

 

So a complete K24A2 for less then $1000? Cool I guess, do you know if the engine runs, what are your plains with it?

 

Idk if I'd say it's complete cause it's missing alternator and tb. By anyways besides that it is. It says it runs but we will find out. When I go to look at it I'm just guna make sure it's not locked up. I would like to put it in my 07 sport hah. Anyone done a k24 swap?

 

im actually just starting on a K24A2 swap on my 08 Fit. Is your car auto or Manual? Personally I would be weary of a near complete K24 for under $1,000 but thats just me.

The K24A2 I'm looking at from a TSX has every thing. Tranny, harness, axles, shifter box every thing to get it running and that is $3,800. I'm not sure what a tranny goes for. With some shopping around you could probable find one for a good price.

 

make sure the block stamped k24a2, accord come with a k24a4 with less hp and tq, and 750 what i pay for my k20 type s tranny used, make sure your getting a 6 speed and not the 5 speed from base modle rsx or ep3 or else it will feel slugesh. this is my k24a2 build thread

you are correct sir 04-08 models
the current mount kit from hasport works with rsx and si trannys. the accord and tsx tranny caseings have different mounting pattern than current mounts, they make a mount kit for these for a eg/dc/ek, so iam sure if you contact them, they could modify the mount to work for the current kit. either way you go requires customizing either the cables or the shifter box, iam working with a well known k series parts company to make a bolt in shifter box to work with the rsx trannys using the rsx type s cables so everything is direct bolt in, its still in the r and d stages rite now but should be availble soon, ill be making a thread of the prototype and videos of it working as soon as its availble.

 

not trying to tell you or anyone to do what iam doing, only to make everyone aware of options and the pros and cons of each direction you can go with your swap. iam not on here alot, mostly just to post updates of my build, if you have any questions for me please leave me a pm and ill reply asap

 

ok see, I did not realise the TSX tranny had different mounts. Im glade i learned this before I bought the full engine. It now makes more sense to buy the K24 that is local and tracking down a RSX-S or Si Trans.

k24a2 only came in the tsx. Accords are k24a4 and aren't true I-vtec. You'll need to swap a different head on it. Also, there is no way he is selling a k24a2 for $400. Those motors go for $2k all day.

and $400 for a K24A2....are u kidding ? cux those things go for $2500 normally....so if i were to buy it..i would do all the tests before buying it!!


nothing from the TSX will work on a Kfit, u will need hasport harness, axles and GD3 shifter box, $3800 seems alittle high, check on K20a.org...lots of swaps for sale there, some are modded and some are stock so there are lots of options there!
K24 uses differen't engine mounts tho so u have to order K24 mounts from Hasport and i don't think u can use the Hasport ounts for TSX Tranny...i think their mounts are for K20 tranny only.
