GD1 looking for better muffler

Hiya guys

Im wanting a new muffler for my Jazz (here in australia) its a GD1. I dont want to change the whole exhaust line as its too expensive (for now). I have a very tidy looking little car, nice wheels, dark red paint job, limo tint all around, brilliant focal utopia/ pioneer p99 sound system, all leather replacements inside, racing gear nob, custom dash mat, floor matts, chrome door plates, spoon wide rearview mirror, carbon eye lids, carbon wing mirrors (to come) etc, the one thing thats letting it down is the muffler and tip. Its the sad little down pipe. Im looking at universal mufflers, 2.5inch intake, to a 3inch tip (?) But how do i know which is better than the other? There are so many!! Ive heard that no matter what i choose it'll require slight custom work to fit it which is fine. So is it purely down to look? There seem to be a million on ebay. Im looking for something quiet, with a low tone, nothing loud or flashy, just something that looks (and is performance based!) nice for a nice looking car!!

any advice would be amazing, thanks guys

I've singled out these few, what do you think guys?? HELP!

Megan M Vo 3 5" Dual Titanium Blue Burnt Tips Oval Exhaust Muffler 2 5" Inlet | eBay

or

Universal 3" Dual Tip T 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Resonator Muffler 2 5" Inlet | eBay

or

Universal Dual 3" Slant Tip Performance Muffler Toyota Honda BMW Volks Mercedez | eBay

or

APEXI N1 Universal Muffler 2 5inch Nissan Toyota Mitsubishi Subaru Honda Hyundai | eBay

or

Aspec itb 2 5" Tip 2 5" Inlet Spoon Style SUS304 Stainless Universal Muffler JDM | eBay

or

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/180962840...ht_2496wt_1349

Im loving the N1, or the Megan M-VO and HKS....but are they decent for my car? i like the idea of the 2.5 and a smaller tip to keep noise down, which is also why the resonator is very appealing!! Help!! want to do this asap, but cant choose one

I've done a lot of different things with my exhaust and to tell you the truth there isn't any performance gain except when you are turning over 4000 RPM and you will loose some power below that with about any non stock muffler.. It's not all that noticeable at first because you will be enjoying the way it sounds... You will get a deeper low pitch sound from a single outlet muffler than one with 2 outlets and a larger muffler body is going to be quieter and deeper sounding than a smaller one... I like the Megan muffler also but it is a little bit on the loud side which may interfere with listening to your music between 3000 and 4000 RPM...

probs gonna go the single barrel, between the N1 and the HKS is there much of a difference? The N1 says its a 2.5 straight through?

the HKS stats read:

Tip Dia. : 86mm
Piping Dia : 48mm
Shell Dia : 115mm
Total Length : 529mm

and the N1 reads:

2.5inch Inlet
90mm wide Tip
130mm wide Muffler Body
Muffler Body Length = 350mm
Muffler Tip Length = 110mm

HKS is smaller but longer, N1 seems a little chunkier, what are your thoughts?

Found some black or red titanium/carbon fibre cassed mufflers? The red could be cool! Suit my paint job!! But build quality? Still decent possibly?

Get something like that ^ above.

Avoid canister mufflers, especially knock-offs, anything that says something like "Apexi STYLE muffler" will generally sound crappy/raspy.

Some of the legitimate name brand canister style mufflers sound good, but you will pay a price for the quality.

If you're looking on the cheap get a chambered muffler, not straight-through.

I have a 05' Rsx Type S muffler on my 07' Fit sport. I had a buddy club catback witch was too loud for daily driving so i just replaced the axle back and put the Type S muffler to the buddy club B pipe.

thanks for all the help so far guys! so, what about these?

First off, HKS carbon, says its for turbo engines? how important is this? it seems pretty nice! stats are a decent size?? not too large maybe? (still learning here)

eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

Second in line:

eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

digging the look but tiny diameters! could be nice, it is just a standard gli after all:
Tip Dia. : 86mm
Piping Dia : 48mm
Shell Dia : 115mm
Total Length : 383mm

third in line:

eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d

bigger measurements all round

2.5inch Inlet
90mm wide Tip
130mm wide Muffler Body
Muffler Body Length = 350mm
Muffler Tip Length = 110mm

2.5 straight through? decent?

im conflicted :P I love the look of the burnt tip HKS, but how are the diams? seems very small?? Keep in mind my engine is the 1.3 twinspark, very small. And that carbon one? too much of a canon? cheap maybe?

I love my Megan Racing Axel Back - easy to install and love the fact that it sounds better the longer it has been installed. At least you can tell when the car is running now! LOL!
