Exedy OEM vs Stage 1

so besides a slightly higher torque capacity, firmer pressure plate, and about $200 dollars... is there a difference?

i was thinking about the s1, but when i saw the price difference i started to think again...

i'm at 91k on the stock clutch so i'm starting to think about these things...

have you used a stage clutch before? I can't speak for the Fit but I've had a few in other cars. The car grabs harder in a shorter "slip" range. If you live in an area where you'll be doing a lot of shifting because of traffic (like chicago for me) and do a fair amount of DD, it can become annoying pretty quickly. Hill starts or working your way up a city parking garage can be "fun". You up-spec the clutch and you are asking more out of it. You probably won't get the same life span out of it.

My other car currently has a Spec Stage 1 in it. Its difficult to hand my keys over to someone else who drive the same car and for them work the gears smoothly the first few hours they drive it. It has probably 60k on it and its slipping pretty good. I'll certainly be putting a new racing clutch in that car soon and when it comes time for the fit (soonish), I plan on doing the same. I think for most people its more of an annoyance than it is a benefit, but for me, I kinda like that annoyance.

yeah i had a spec stage 3+ on my previous car and i actually really liked it...

i'm really curious b/c i've seen that the exedy oem was softer than stock which i'm not excited about, but for 200 less cash i might do it anyway... i'd prefer the stage 1 but only if the exedy oem is really stock feeling - not softer...
