Locking door with turbo timer

So I have an apexi turbo timer. It works fine. But I find that when the car is still running you can't lock the doors. What have people done to get around this. I'd like to be able to get out of the car and lock the doors and walk away and let TT do it's thing. But I can't till car shuts off. My buddy a long long time ago did this through the aftermarket car alarm but wondering if anyone has gone through the wiring and figure out how to make this happen. Before my super electronic friend and I sit down with factory schematics and try to figure it out.

You can manually lock the doors by pulling your drivers side door handle open while pressing the lock button on your door, not the most ideal if you want to do a keyless lock but it'll work in the meantime until you get something figured out.

edit: i should say that, with the drivers door open, you pull on the door handle from the inside while pressing the lock button, then you can close the door like normal.

That worked. I don't know why I didn't try that. I guess I just assumed when I hit lock on key fob and it locked then unlocked.. I was stuck. But doing it manually this way did work. Thanks for the tip!!!

You're welcome, I learned that trick when I worked at honda. But its suppose to be some safety feature to keep you from locking your keys in the car by accident but now you know the bypass.

Yeah all Hondas (many toyotas too) have done that even before power locks. It just skipped my mind, don't think I've ever had a car with a key fob haha. This Fit replaced an 89 Crx. So 89-08 is quite the jump haha. I had a 95 accord that had power locks. That's how I liked the doors on it. With this car I usually just hit the lock button on the way out. Bc in the accord you had to hold the handle and hit the button. The Fit is just hit the button, so I forgot to even try the handle too. Thanks again!
