Plasti Dipped 2008 stock wheels
Plasti Dipped 2008 stock wheels
I plasti dipped my 2008 Honda Fit sport wheels last night. I only used 2 cans of the matte black spray ( so about 1 can per 2 wheels). All together I was able to get on about 5-7 coats on with ease. I will Post up pictures later today since I have given them enough time to dry. As of right now they look pretty badass, and for only spending $12, im not complaining
. I plan on doing my front lip, side skirts, and back lip today. Has anyone done their hood with this stuff yet? If so how did it come out? Thanks -Sean

Just be careful, because if you don't do 5-6 coats it will be a huge pita to take off. Might be worthwhile to go back and hit it with a few more coats just to be sure it will come off.
Bike rack
Pearl:
Not to hijack the thread, but how do you like your bike rack?
On long trips does it decrease mileage much?
Does it add much wind noise?
Do you carry a lot of stuff or other people and so don't have room to just put it in the back?
Thanks,

Thanks,
-It does decrease mileage, but not enough to not have one. Maybe 1 MPG.
-I'm not sure of the wind noise, never had it without it. The second I bought the car, I went to the bike shop to put my rack on. I don't have any whistling or anything annoying.
-Having any rack of some sort is just easier then taking wheels off and putting it in back seat. Of course I've done and and still do it (if it's going to rain).
I would have probably gotten a hitch rack if:
-I didn't already have all the bike mounts.
-I wasn't going to lower my car. I have some fear of the hitch being too low to the ground and smashing something on a dip.

I bought a front fork clamp on Amazon and screwed it to a board. I can get my large bike in the back of the Fit standing upright and it only requires taking off the front wheel and attaching it to the quick clamp.
Here's a picture taken with the bike in the back of my RAV4

It's a bit harder to get into the Fit, but it works fine, holds the bike securely and leaves room for storage of stuff around it.
Sorry, back to OP subject.
