Greetings from Colorado!

A year ago, I would not have thought I would be here, but now I am very happy to have found a 2009 Fit with only 55K miles!

My youngest daughter just finished her PhD in Biomedical Science (I have NO idea where she found THOSE brains), but her Kia Sportage engine blew up not long ago. It sounds like its pretty common for Kia to find every way possible to avoid honoring their "100K" warranty, and this was no exception. So... Dead Kia. Not having her real job yet, she was in no position to go buy another car, so my wife and I decided to buy a small economy car to loan her for a few months until she lands a job, and then bring it back home as an around town commuter for us. With gas prices as they are, the F150 (tow mule), and an Audi are both ridiculously expensive to drive.

Before seeing this car, I didnt know ANYTHING about the Fit. When this car came on our radar, it seemed to be an AWESOME Fit (pun intended) for our needs. It checked out with our long trusted shop, and we will take delivery today. Being a fan of driving manual transmission cars, we are really looking forward to this car. I hope it will be solid reliable transportation for a long time to come.

I already downloaded the service manual (THANK YOU!), and have been reading about the spark plug an coil issues. Carfax showed a coil replacement in the service history, and I thought that was weird, I guess not.

In any case, will be around here looking for ideas and occasionally help... Probably will be making a cargo cover. Im looking for a good bluetooth to AUX adapter since we are all iPhone users (with no headphone jacks). Im also considering an aftermarket cruise control, but that looks like kind of a PITA especially with a manual transmission.

Glad to be here!

Welcome to the forums. With basic maintenance, you can expect that Fit to go well past 2-300K miles.

What's wrong with using one of these for your stereo?

Thanks for the welcome! At the rate that I put miles on cars, that means the car will last forever 😎

As for connection, none of our phones have headphone jacks… one of those decisions apple made that is a bit limiting. There are ways to get around that, but I would like both hands free phone and music streaming without having to plug in. I ordered one of these yesterday, will see how well it works.
